Well isn't there a new status checker this year? Could make a difference in how people are notified

This is true. I suppose this year they could decide to update it to say decision letter sent. They've definitely made it clear in the status checker that the decision itself won't be available online though.

Is it possible we'll get e-mails this year? Were ED decisions always e-mailed out or is that new?

Status checker is not new. Mine continued to say complete long after I was rejected last year

Isn't the status checker different this year, though? If you follow the link to last year's checker, you get a message saying that the status checker will be upgraded "with additional features." Technically, one of the additional features could be a decision letter sent update, although I tend to agree that it'll probably just continue to say complete.

Are scholarship considerations part of that snail mail package? Do they also not notify you any other way of possible scholarships or the same deal as acceptances? Damn, they need to get with the times :(

If it's a Hamilton (full-tuition) or a Butler (half-tuition), then it's included with the acceptance letter. All other money is awarded later, although I don't know offhand by what method or when.

Thanks!

Guess I'll be bugging my parents about checking the mail everyday from now until March, lol.

Not sure how many there are; I can try researching it later when I'm not on my phone. Right now, I can tell you that they are indeed "just like SURPRIIISSSSEEEEE HERE's MONEY." :)

Hoping the point was worth the wait.
You're still in the 3-point error band for LSAC; however, I could see it helping you--slightly. I knew a consistent low 160-scorer who fluked and scored 170+ on the actual LSAT. I don't think he had ever scored higher than like 165 in practice, but he happened to guess lucky and scored well. I think those situations are rare, but going from 170 to 171 lessens the chance you're a member of the high outlier category.

I applied ED and got what i think is a defer via snail mail today -- pm 12.26. It's the letter that says "we are unable to take favorable action at this time.... but will review again in April." Is this a deferal? Waitlist? I'm confused because i though the only correspondence that came via snail mail for ED applicants was a rejection...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
