I'm starting to think that columbia actually looked at my app holistically. LSN to a small extent and mylsn.info indicate that I'm a statistical anomaly...
Good luck everyone. If I got in, you have hope.

Has anyone gotten in touch with CLS to confirm that they intend to stick to the 4/26/13 date they set forth in our Hold letters? Is there any indication that they may not actually get us decisions by today (other than the fact that it's obviously already 4:30)?

So... I never completed my application at Columbia yet I was still placed on reserve.... wtf?? lol... I mean I know their reserve list is basically a permanent rejection, but I was still caught by surprise.

Oh yea, they definitely looked at my app holistically. With my 3.2 GPA, I don't think my app would have gotten past auto-ding if they weren't reading my PS, DS, and resume.francesfarmer wrote:I'm starting to think that columbia actually looked at my app holistically. Reserved just now. Am I special or do all the the reserve letters have a handwritten note from Dean Iwerebon at the bottom? Trying to gauge whether or not I should exorcise all hope...

Not sure, but will let you know when I get it. By the way, interesting the office would work after 5 to make sure held candidates get decisions.

I just got mine about 30 min ago and it does. I'm also curious, as I have above average LSAT and GPA > 4.0.ht2988 wrote:Reserved just now. Do all the the reserve letters have a handwritten from Dean Iwerebon at the bottom?

That's weird, assuming you have above average softs.PensivePreLaw wrote:I just got mine about 30 min ago and it does. I'm also curious, as I have above average LSAT and GPA > 4.0.ht2988 wrote:Reserved just now. Do all the the reserve letters have a handwritten from Dean Iwerebon at the bottom?

They are not necessarily going to stay to finish everything tonight. I spoke to them on the phone and they're not getting everything out by 4/26 (today).

Thanks, but one neurotic WL thread is enough for me to follow. I'll be sure to let everyone know if I get admitted off the reserve list though.WhatOurBodiesAreFor wrote:Reserve people, this is where it be now: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=208740

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I think my softs are pretty good. Applying on the deadline not the best move ever. Maybe (I'd like to think), they're waiting to see if they can offer money (thinking, maybe correctly, that if they admitted me now without money I would withdraw and deposit elsewhere). But, then again, my LSAT could be better.Laws'Law wrote:That's weird, assuming you have above average softs.PensivePreLaw wrote:I just got mine about 30 min ago and it does. Thanks for the tip. It seems decisions this year are slower than last year; I would think the school would've received less applications this year than the last.testaker wrote:They are not necessarily going to stay to finish everything tonight. Mine does as well.Talks about continuing looking at my candidacy and asking to provide plan updates as the summer progresses, right?PensivePreLaw wrote:I just got mine about 30 min ago and it does. Now I know why it took them so long - they were writing notes!

If you haven't heard anything can that be interpreted as either good or bad news?

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Sorry was away from civilization:
Reserved on Friday.- withdrawing. Would have liked to make the decision myself but now I'm set on hls! In my mind this really ended my cycle. (Still waiting on SLS but seems like WL is inevitable. Really thought I'd get in to columbia- numbers/fee waiver).
Thanks all appreciate all the help. Probably wont post much but Feel free to pm I'm happy to give any info I can -

Will Columbia get everyone an initial decision by the end of April as it states on their site?
