I would bet my 174 (I don't actually have any money) that you are not an outright ding. I know we're all skeptical about this, but there are plenty more acceptances to go out still.

THERE HAS TO BE!!!!!

It looks like several people with really good numbers dodged the hold - I think it's a good thing for you guys. It seems like CLS is sorta parsing what's left of the applicant pool. The people they least want to accept got reserved, now some of us with slightly better chances got held, and the rest with strong numbers might get an acceptance soon or might also get held later.

I've been checking last years thread and I don't think hold really means much. I saw plenty of people get in after being held while some of the forgotten ended up getting reserved straight.

Oh, right. I forgot about the forgotten. I wonder if that is my fate now.

A few new WLs popped up on LSN. I wonder if Columbia is really WLing people at the same time, or whether those people mistook the hold as the WL...

What if you have a crappy LSAT, median gpa, applied early and heard nothing so far? Mylsn says waitlist is 3 times more likely than a ding and only a 10% chance at acceptance. Am I forgotten or dingsville?

Interesting, there are Januarians among the holds. Mind giving us some stats?

Also Held today. Complete mid-November. 171/3.5x.

After Boalt's outright rejection I was fully expecting the same from CLS, so even though it is pretty frustrating to have to wait even longer for a decision, I'll take this as good news for now.

Althoughhhh the email should not have said "Please see the attached document for a decision on your application to Columbia Law School." Should've said "Please see the attached document so we can tell you about our continued lack of a decision on your application"!!!!!

Sent them an email asking if I could send in another LOR. Probably gonna write a LOCI too. I really want this.

170/3.99

It would also be helpful to have some rough info on the proportion of holds that are accepted, reserved or rejected. The email's language seemed encouraging, fwiw.

I'm definitely feeling like I'm on the low end here...

Checking in.

Submitted application in early January, completion pending since January 15th. It's been five weeks now; starting to be concerned.

Definitely email! The status checker page suggests that two weeks is appropriate; I emailed around week three. Good luck!

It's a date. Now I'll trade you .5 GPA points for 3 LSAT points. Deal?

I agree that you should email. I sat at completion pending for a really long time, and it was due to a data coding error in the admissions office. So... instead of going complete in the middle of December, I went complete in the middle of January.

Don't be like me. Email.

Same. I waited three months to finally email them, and I went complete the same day.

Wow, I'll definitely send an email tonight then. Thanks for the advice, everyone.
