Nothing in the mail yesterday. Today there was only one letter, but it was addressed to someone who doesn't even live at my address.

You are way too nice and supportive. Almost makes me wish schools would read TLS so that people like you would get in instead of trollsLavitz wrote:Looks like it. Gonna hop on a limb and guess you're in Miami too. No NCE, also an early November submit. But mail here is insanely slow/unreliable ....so my guess is somebody in the Hialeah sorting facility is using them for rolling papersdolfan17 wrote:Anyone in So Fla get a NCE yet?? FWIW i'm in central florida without an NCE as well. my mail notoriously sucks so even if it was postmarked 1/24 i don't think it would get here until today at the earliest anyway...i think tomorrow is the latest and then the jig is up.

quick question: do they do WL by snail mail too? Is there a deadline for WL response?
I'm applying from abroad. The decision letter is probably lost on the way.
Thanks!!

Plus, it's going to get cold. And I don't just mean 60. I mean in the 50s, in the 40s, and, probably even in the THIRTIES. I seriously don't own close-toed shoes....
Honestly, these schools need to include a "Dressing in Cold Weather for Dummies" informational session for us spoiled southern 0Ls. I've been religiously stocking up on sweaters (none of which I have worn yet, of course) and literally just ordered some mittens online in preparation. And sadly, the thing that most terrifies me about law school is not the finals, but the snow. Quite pathetic.

I have the opposite problem. I'm pretty sure I'd have to turn down Stanford if I got in because I don't own any shorts or short sleeve shirts that aren't tee-shirts. I MIGHT have a pair of sandals in the back of my closet.Spritzpiggy wrote:I seriously don't own close-toed shoes....

Maybe its the Floridian in me, but it never seems like losing clothes is a problem. Hot? Just take it off. And seriously, if you do end up in Cali, well its Cali!
Case in point: This summer I went to SF and some old friends of mine and I were doing some classy day drinking at a cafe. While sitting at a table outside, two middle-aged guys, completely naked, stroll down the street and sit at the table directly across from us with their legs spread entirely open and allowing all the birds and bees to admire the full glory of their junk. Then we all struck up a dandy conversation, pulled our tables together like its all good, and shared some beers. Moral of the story, you seriously can't go wrong in California.

WTF? Haha, that's cool and all but that would definitely be shut down immediately outside of SF. I've lived in many areas of Southern California and I just can't imagine this happening without someone jumping and telling me I'm on "what would you do" or "candid camera."Spritzpiggy wrote:Maybe its the Floridian in me, but it never seems like losing clothes is a problem. Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
It was email last year. If I remember correctly, the Reserve emails went out the Friday after acceptances first went out, so I'd guess that at some point between tomorrow and the middle of next week, many of us will be put on Reserve (where we will most likely die a slow, 8-month-long death, as Columbia seems to maintain an enormous waitlist that they barely use).Just wrote:quick question: do they do WL by snail mail too? At least they don't drag it out like they do with the acceptances...02889 wrote:It was email last year. Edit: by mailing it, that is. it seems like the waitlist process does get dragged out

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I came home today to an NCE with a Hamilton! What a day!
It's postmarked the 25th (west coast). I went complete in October.
Wow.

You can sort of check your status here: https://web.law.columbia.edu/admissions ... ion-status. It doesn't really convey any information about the current status of your application, though.

You weren't happy about your big envelope from Texas Wesleyan yesterday?Wormfather wrote:Anyone else giving any mailman they see the stink eye? I mean even if you happen to be miles away from your house, ya know, trying to see if there are any NCE's in his/her bag?
Because, you know, that's rational.
