Traditionally I agree. However, there's a counterexample: me. 8)

I am also a counterexample. I am non-urm, below both medians and was admitted after UR1.

To be fair, people suspect 171 was last year's median.

Riiiight, and it just so happens that no one at Duke, NU, or NYU looked at anything in your app before admitting you. (Although I would believe that last one.)

i am almost certain nyu looks at the two numbers and goes BOOM YOU'RE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because i feel like they move at too fast a pace to do anything else.

although to be fair, the email a student sent me was targeted to me- cali, my type of law, blah blah

I hate everything and everyone about NYU     , please keep it out of the CLS thread where i'm not considered a forgotten yet due to a late CLS specific recommendation .

Namaste.

You're right. I prob need to go pop a Xanax and do some yoga. The submit -> complete timeline seems completely arbitrary.

Sorry.

Benzos/weed + yoga = TCR

Or intense cardio, often and forever.

With your cycle the way it's going, that doesn't seem quite plausible...

I've been trying to answer this as well, as I too would have a lot of trouble paying sticker, even though it is Columbia.

Based on LSN, it looks like there is money out there besides but/ham, usually ranging anywhere from 15 to 60k for applicants with numbers similar to ours. But it is hard to know how much of that is strictly merit based or need based.

Mail time and still no NCE. At this point I think it's safe to assume that I simply was not included in this batch.

Columbia clearly doesn't care about my URMness. I was hoping that would help

Not sure what to tell you. I gave you a shovel, now you've got to do the digging. If I knew the answer I would share it but I'm not getting into Columbia and if I did by some miracle I would be facing sticker so I haven't done that research myself.

Also according to TLS need based aid at schools outside of HYS is an elaborate flame. Maybe not true for Columbia, I don't know. When you do the research let the forum know, I'm sure others are interested in that as well.

Wanted to see if it was common knowledge or if others had looked into it prior. I'll do some digging. Thanks BZ.
