No, certainly not haha.

I went complete 1/10 so I looked into this a bit (again, NYU has spoiled me). And it looks like last year, the early-mid January completes heard either by the last week of January (just one person) or the first/second week of February. I'm just looking at acceptances here. I'm going to guess that if Columbia sticks with their Thursday mailings, then the early January applicants (auto-admits, only, most likely) could be in the January 31 or February 7 batch.

I would be so overjoyed if I heard back in the first few batches with an early Jan complete date...

+1

There's a very small sample size on lsn so it's hard to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if we heard in the next two weeks.

I wonder if there is any correlation between which batch you're accepted in and scholarship offers, as well...

this is an anecdotal evidence, but I know at least two people who got into CLS last year in mid feb after going complete mid-late jan. so I think we will definitely hear back soon... well.. assuming we are in

I just keep telling myself that if I'm in at NYU, then I'm in at Columbia. I have no idea how this holds up statistically, but given the similarities in their medians, it's not completely irrational. But it'd be nice to know for sure before I get too deep into my pro/con list of CLS vs. NYU.

Having been passed over by nyu.. I'm actually hoping the admission standards are different.

If I get into both though, I'll probably head to Columbia.

How about you guys?

I would lean towards NYU but if Columbia offered me $ and NYU didn't I would strongly consider choosing Columbia.

CLS is actually quite a bit more selective than NYU, probably because their yield is better

CLS more difficult than NYU by a non-negligable margin IMO

I think NYU's larger class size is also a factor. Even if their yield were exactly the same, NYU would still have to accept more students in order to reach 450. Still, I'd guess that the number of students who get into NYU and don't get into CLS is pretty minimal.

Plugging in numbers around my range gets a 13% acceptance rate for CLS and 69% for NYU with pretty large sample sizes for both. NYU has the 2nd highest acceptance rate in the T-14 after GULC. CLS is much more difficult to get into.

yes that seems accurate, but i think nyu is not afraid to accept ppl that are getting into cls for yp reasons. They arent that different and share a city....

That's funny...my chances are only 3% better at NYU than at CLS using law school predictor.

Well I haven't gotten rejected from NYU yet, so I can still hope
