Dammit - I spoke too soon. Deferred around 5:00 pm... Better than an outright rejection. Best of luck to those still waiting!

Stay strong guys. Columbia pulled some deferred ED applicants off the WL last year.

Does Columbia deny ED candidates? Or is a deferral as low as it gets?

You could get dinged in the spring when your apps get reviewed again. I don't think that'll happen in your case.

If they do, then I'm definitely getting rejected. I'm just hoping they do a little bit of pre-holiday binge drinking before they review my app.

i cant imagine theyd let a 173 go when they see that december lsats arent as full of amazing scores as they hope. I think a lot of schools are banking on december scores that just arent coming and thats when having ur lsat score will be huge......

I hope they reconsider... I'm involved in a few new projects that I think will make for good LOCI material. I'm honestly feeling very grateful that I didn't get rejected. I have some seriously shady C&F issues in my file.

Woa. Per LSN, they didn't reject a soul. Not quite so content at all about the waitlist.

What makes you think you were waitlisted? I thought this deferment meant we were going to be reconsidered among the regular decision applicant pool...

If they're making you wait until April to have your file reviewed again (as it says on their website), it's my understanding that this is essentially a waitlist.

Super surprised I wasn't included in today's deferrals. I'm sorry to everyone who got that e-mail today.

Do they ever outright ding ED applicants? Or is it always deferral/waitlist?

According to their website...
Some early decision applicants not offered admission will be reviewed again in April as part of the regular applicant pool; others will be informed that their application for admission has been denied and will not be evaluated again that year.

Yeah I saw that, I've just never actually heard of any ED applicants being dinged, I briefly looked through some old TLS threads from last year trying to find an example.

Sorry for those who got deferred. But what does it mean for those who have not got deferred so far?

It means that there's either a deferral or an acceptance or a rejection coming to us before the new year.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
