Power of softs I guess.

I'll probably be at NYU with a decent scholly so the marginal benefits being lost don't concern me too much.

Goodluck to those still waiting

Sooooo first waitlist? Not bad.
You're not understanding anything you're being told.
lol, I was reading the thread while in class. My bad. Well, I'll take a WL over a straight ding. Now I don't have to worry about Columbia until the end of May.

True, but Columbia is one of my top choices. I'd prefer the worry if it means I'm still under consideration.

Nope because Columbia doesn't call anyone.

Has the opposite trend happened to anyone else? Columbia accepted me with surprising speed, whereas I haven't heard from NYU for months and months.

The group's stats look like it'd make a nice batch of admitted students! But what's the experience with holds from last year @ Columbia? I bet someone's checked that..

The year I applied there were many students who had 170+ (including quite a few minorities) and got held initially, and then later, they were all accepted (some even with scholarships).

Early Jan submit here...I have not been held/reserved, not even a word from Columbia since going complete.

Does this bode well for me or are we starting to get to the point where no fresh acceptances will be going out? 170/3.8
