Does anyone think that being named an all-american attorney at national mock trial would help much to get me off the hold list?

Did you receive this news by post or email? Thanks!
I called the financial aid office on Friday asking when I would receive notification, and they said they would email me to make it quicker. I got the email later that day. Hope that helps!

Just withdrew after receiving predictable financial aid offer of 40k Friday (asked for expedited decision with impending deposit deadlines; 1/7 submit; 2/22 accept; 174/3.8).

Hopefully this opens up spot + dollar$ for those who want it more than I do.

Would have liked to have attended, but not with COA above $200k.

I haven't heard a thing since going complete... is it okay to call to see if I missed something, or should I just be patient?

Have you read the thread to see if this is a common occurrence for lots of applicants to Columbia?

Personally, I wouldn't call if you made it to complete.

Thanks - I've looked through but most posters seem to be held or have heard. But I applied right at the deadline so probably need to just keep waiting...

When was the deadline? Sometime in March? You are much too eager, my little beaver.

People wait months and months and months through cold, bitter silence from Columbia.

Deadline was Feb. 15th. But you're right, I am getting too antsy!

Hold movement, and without an LOCI. Nice. Congratulations!

I submitted before the March deadline and still haven't heard. I presume the pace will improve as we get closer to deposit deadlines.

I hope they're aware NYU's is 4/22...

Isn't that only for the named scholarship recipients? I thought the deadline was May 3rd.

If a Dean's scholarship is a named scholarship, then yes.

Nope. Last year deferred ED applicants heard this week, so hopefully we'll hear back soon.

This wait is brutal! Thought Columbia wasn't serious when they said it takes until late April to get back to us.
