Just to clarify, I think it's 10 business days, so hopefully you're taking that into account.
Mine was 10 days from date of completion including weekends

Good luck everyone.
That is crazy dude. Mine is not surprising but that shocks the hell out of me. Maybe YP? Maybe the Why Duke? was not enough to prevent it.

Sorry if this has been answered, but is there a difference between WL and Priority Reserve?
Got the Priority Reserve email today (10th calendar day).
172, 3.54, for those keeping score.

I can't say for sure but it seems more like a hold than a waitlist. Like Priority Track guarantees an answer within 10 days but it seems that priority reserve is for people for whom 10 days was not enough time for the school to decide. I think it just means they want to see more applicants before they give you a decision (i.e. you'll just get your answer outside of the 10-day timeframe).
Obviously this is speculation based on the little info I could find, but it seems to be the case.

Tomorrow's my tenth day but I don't want to know anymore.

168, 3.98, PT checking in. Got an email saying it will take more than ten days because of turkey day.
Wish me luck, might need in light of some of the decisions ITT...

3.8 GPA, 168 LSAT
Priority Reserve. I can't tell if this is a waitlist or if Duke got way in over their heads with offering thousands of "We'll get your decision to you in 10 days!" and just needs more time to make an informed decision. Either way, it was a bit deflating.

3.74, 165 URM, Priority Reserve. Bummed because I actually wanted to go. No Why Duke though.

Does "decision sent" always mean good news? How can you tell if you'll be hearing a PT waitlist or PT hold?

I think it is neutral. Watch for the email. Mine took a few hours.

I'm confused as to why so many people are getting WL-ed, but you guys have great numbers and I'm sure you'll have a better cycle than this predicts. It's probably a combination of YP and not having enough time to make a decision, so don't stress out yet.

It seems like the folks who applied PT as soon as the application opened fared better, and now the folks who are around the margins are having a much harder time

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
You say folks around the margins but my impression is that some of the WLs are not marginal candidates. We've already seen three 170+, 3.8+ get WL'ed, and those folks are right at or above Duke's 75ths.
I don't even know what to make of this, other than TLS might have collectively underestimated the extent to which schools are willing to cut class sizes or easiness of this cycle. Pretty scary stuff.

Accepted just now! Pretty surprised, given how ready I was to see myself on priority reserve. Good luck everyone!

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
I'm just going to reiterate that I don't think PR=WL.
To (sort of) back this up, this is a quote from the Dean of Admissions at Duke Law, discussing PT:
"We guarantee that the applicants will receive a response from us within ten days after the application becomes complete. The response could be an offer of admission, a waitlist offer, an invitation to interview, a deny decision. Or, in some cases, we have to hold the file for further review."
It seems PR is just further review. If they were going to waitlist you, they would probably just call it waitlist. However, even if it is a waitlist (which I doubt), it probably has some benefits over the regular WL, or else they would combine the two for administrative ease.
Moral of the story: Don't worry about the PT/PR numbers unless you applied PT/PR. I doubt Duke's medians are gonna suddenly sky-rocket this year, and I don't believe they'll be so quick to cut down the class size. As a fellow 0L, I could obviously be wrong but this should give y'all a good reason to relax and not get too worked up about these numbers.

Accepted via PT on 11/16!!! Went complete 11/6. Stats: 171/3.9, no 'Why Duke?' essay, but did submit optional essay 2 (diversity).
Congrats to everyone!
