"Scholarship decision mailed" can definitely be no scholarship. If I recall correctly from their email apologizing for the delay in the release of financial aid decisions, they stated that applicants would be notified whether or not they received a scholarship.
I can go looking for some verification of that if you kids insist.
ETA: I may have actually made that up... let me do some digging...

I have a question about Duke.
Between Cornell, Duke, and Georgetown---which school do you think has the best academic reputation overall? Likewise, which of these three schools would be the best choice for someone who aspires to become a law professor?
Really interested in hearing people's detailed thoughts.

Duke slightly over Georgetown (but numbers are so small, one more academic makes a huge difference) over Cornell. (the latter's low result surprised me)

The letter also includes a lot of information about loans - so depending on the size of your scholarship, you could have anywhere from 0 loans (aka full ride) to all loans (aka no $$$ at all), meaning everyone gets the letter.MacB wrote:"Scholarship decision mailed" can definitely be no scholarship. Aha, I see! Thanks for the info, even though it means increased agonizing on my part over the contents of that letter.whosonfirst wrote:The letter also includes a lot of information about loans - so depending on the size of your scholarship, you could have anywhere from 0 loans (aka full ride) to all loans (aka no $$$ at all), meaning everyone gets the letter.MacB wrote:"Scholarship decision mailed" can definitely be no scholarship. At least Duke uses the fastest and most efficient medium for delivering scholly info possible. If I'm really lucky, they sent it via homing pigeon instead of the Pony Express <3 <3 <3

I sent Duke my scholarship form today via email. How long does it take to hear back? How much, if any, scholarship money can I expect?

For me it took 6 weeks, but now that the cycle is narrowing they are quickening the pace. I'm betting they will get back to you within 2 weeks, and then it depends on how far away you live from Durham, NC.jvincent11 wrote:I sent Duke my scholarship form today via email. As for quantity I have no idea. what are your finances like based on Need Access? for raw merit, probably depends on how badly they need your GPA to fill out their median.

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
Thanks for the response. I don't get any need based aid, so I'm hoping that helps my chances for merit.jbagelboy wrote:For me it took 6 weeks, but now that the cycle is narrowing they are quickening the pace. I'm a dual degree applicant and I went ur1 on 2/18 and still there. Haven't heard yet on any turnaround for those applicants. Did you apply to the summer dual degree program?islandrose0913 wrote:I went UR1 3/1.. Any insight as to what the turnaround time is for dual degree applicants?
