Yeah, got my acceptance letter today too. Literally one day after the file went under review. They just moved up my list for being so awesome!
Now for a three month wait at every other school...

Accepted today, thrilled and surprised at such a quick turnaround! I was expecting to wait the full ten days for PT. Definitely moved up my list

congrats! and thanks for the timeline info, it makes those of us anxiously waiting more aware of when to expect good/bad news. mine went "under review" today, and i think two previous posters also indicated the same earlier this afternoon? good to know they're chugging along so quickly. congrats again!

Thanks so much! And to answer a few other questions, Duke is definitely a top choice, but I think any of those decisions will have to wait until financial aid comes in as well as a few other decisions from schools.

I didn't even check status check because I didn't think it would be relevant until next week. If it helps you feel better, I have a really early name in the alphabet. I really wouldn't worry too much.

Good luck to everyone!!!

I guess there's no chance they'll be this fast in late October/early November

...I mean they guarantee ten days. So I guess they might take the whole ten instead of five or six?

They guarantee 10 days for everything?

If you're applying via PT, then yes, they guarantee a response within 10 days regardless of when you submit. If you didn't get the PT invite, then no, you have to wait longer.

But if you didn't have PT you wouldn't have had a decision this fast anyways...

OK got it. I should probably go back to worrying about my retake instead of wondering about how long an admissions committee will get back to me.

Congrats to all the fast admits!

I just sent in my application after spending a pretty good amount of time on both optional essays. Last cycle I wasn't all that informed about or interested in Duke, and sent in a Feb. app without any optional material (ended up WL and held through the whole summer). Since then I've become more and more interested in Duke, and it's definitely one of my top choices now.

How'd people find out they were in by email or just by checking their app status?

From what they said yesterday, they were sent an email. I imagine their status changed too, but email came first.

Same question, but for those who applied Accelerated ED.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
