I'm with you guys but went complete on the 25th, so I guess I probably won't hear till Friday. Did anyone get in yet without writing a Why Duke essay?

Any other Accelerated ED Admits get any info about the 15K Early Decision Grant? Is this one time or renewable?

I'm in! Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting, too.
Quick question. My email says that although I am in, they will not send me my official acceptance letter yet because "You will be officially admitted to Duke Law School when you complete the next step of our admission process – applying for financial aid and scholarship assistance. In early December, the Financial Aid Office will send you the scholarship application form and instructions via email. Since you may qualify for a Duke Law scholarship, I encourage you to apply. If you apply, you will receive your official admission letter and a decision on your scholarship application soon after the Committee completes the scholarship review."
They give me an option of NOT applying for scholarship assistance and just going ahead and being formally admitted now.
What does this mean? Is it for financial aid or for merit aid? And will I still get a letter by postage, or not until/if I apply for scholarship aid in December?
Thanks guys,
Jed

Sounds like they're trying to filter out people who are just applying PT to get an easy acceptance out of the way but don't have much interest in actually attending.

Does anyone know if Duke--or any other school--typically calls the workplace you list on your resume?
At work today I noticed "Duke University" pop up on the main line, but I couldn't answer for various reasons and apparently none of the customer service people who are actually responsible for answering that line bothered to pick up. We do have customers from all across the country call us, and I've seen Columbia show up a few times (before I applied), but I think it was too much of a coincidence that the first time I've ever seen Duke University calling us would be right when my app is under review. And I'm pretty sure that's the only number they would find if they tried to google us.
Would be funny if my app gets delayed because nobody picks up the phone around here.
ETA: RD, non-PT

Given the large amount of applicants they (and all T-14s) receive, I would be completely amazed if they followed-up with anything on your app like that. It does make you think though...what if it was????Lavitz wrote:Does anyone know if Duke--or any other school--typically calls the workplace you list on your resume?

Their aid is partly need and partly merit. They'll send you a formal acceptance package in 1-2 weeks with more info on the law school, some stuff on aid, and a more detailed acceptance letter. Congrats!JedBartlett wrote:I'm in! Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting, too.

I'm still waiting on my recs to arrive to LSAC... I feel like I'm applying really late for someone on PT (or just for this application cycle in general).

My app has been received but incomplete for three weeks due to waiting for a dean's letter, so you're not the only late PTJohnMarshall17 wrote:I'm still waiting on my recs to arrive to LSAC... I feel like I'm applying really late for someone on PT (or just for this application cycle in general).

PT, WL'd . Not even priority reserve WL'd. Any guesses or similar fates? I was under the impression that WL is not a common decision for a PT applicant.
