Yeah sok, it stinks (though you can still work your way off reserve) but also let's not forget you have great numbers and should be in for a great cycle.VasaVasori wrote:Duke doesn't seem to YP very much based on this graph... http://mylsn.info/graph.php?school=dukeBr3v wrote:Do you think his numbers are high enough for YP?

But they might do so if you demonstrate no interest whatsoever...?
Were you confident in your LOR's, PS, Resume, etc?
Sorry to hear about that, but there's still a long cycle ahead of us, so there are sure to be plenty more options.

Gah. I went decision made;wait for email at 4pm today. It's currently 11:10pm. It's like they know I have a test in the morning as well as a research monograph due at 9:30am. This is maddening!

I went "Decision made; watch for email" sometime this evening... I guess I assumed once it hit 6pm on the east coast all would be quiet until morning, but I guess not. Now I am anxiously checking my inbox. Worried by some of the recent priority reserves on this thread, though, as they are close to my numbers.

I got in! I'm literally sobbing from the emotion of it all. I submitted Nov.1/went complete Nov. 5/decision made Nov. 14/ got email Nov. 15 at 1:40AM.
169/172 (most recent) LSAT
3.84 at Uni. of MO
Non-URM
Didn't tailor my application to Duke at all (which has been haunting me for the past 2 weeks)
I hope the rest of you make it in!!

Congrats, new admits!
Risa, I think it's just a glitch on the site. The same thing has happened to me. If you enter the date manually, it should work fine.risa wrote: I tried to update it on Law School Numbers but for some reason when I select the "Decision" date it fills in the "complete" box instead and won't let me put in a decision date. Weird.

No, nothing was at all tailored to Duke. I submitted my same personal statement and diversity statement that I have submitted everywhere. (My diversity statement's a bit of a stretch - I'm very white - but it's about how my work experience gives me a different perspective to contribute). I had four very strong letters of recommendation, none from professors b/c I'm 8 years out of undergrad.

Thanks!! Congrats to you as well! I agree about the 6 month thing. I don't know how I'm going to make myself relax knowing that law school is finally just around the corner. Though I must admit that this is my first acceptance, so I already feel a huge weight off my shoulders.
I did forget to mention my softs. I only had 2 LORs, and only one was from a professor, despite me currently being in undergrad. I had another professor lined up, but he literally just submitted his LOR and got it approved by LSAC this week, so I didn't get to use it. The other LoR came from a prosecutor I worked with at an internship.
For those debating a Why Duke, I highly suggest writing one. I didn't add one because I thought it felt disingenuous with the rest of my personal statement, and it caused me worry for the entire 10 days. Don't do that to yourself. If you truly want to get in, go ahead and spend the extra few hours tailoring your app to Duke.

When Duke says "10 days" for PT, does that include the day the app goes complete? More specifically, if I went complete 11/6, should I have received an answer today?

No one here works for Duke so I doubt anyone can say for sure. I would just assume ten days after complete. If I were in your shoes I would not be alarmed unless I didn't have a response by 11:59 PM tomorrow.Mr. Elshal wrote:When Duke says "10 days" for PT, does that include the day the app goes complete?
