So anyone else excited about their LSAT median dropping one point? Will be applying after my October score.

Absolutely, yes. I'm still below both medians, making NYU a stretch, but now it's just a bit more possible that an acceptance is within reach.

I'm a NYU 1L who was eventually accepted even though I was below both medians. Good luck you guys! Wishing everyone here the best.

Has anyone thought about EDing CLS/CHI, and RDing NYU, and if you get into NYU before CLS/Chi gets back to you, then maybe withdrawing the app from those places? Would this work or is this against the rules?

It might work, but it might not (and if it does work I don't understand the strategy). CLS/UC, if I recall correctly, would have the choice to release you from the ED or not. So they may let you out of it or you may be stuck. Also, why would you withdraw from CLS UC if you get into NYU? Doesn't really make much sense, unless you actually preferred NYU in the first place. In that case, why wouldn't you just ED to NYU.

TL;DR- Might work but is sort of ass-backwards

Well my thinking is that I am planning to ED to one of CCN. I'd rather get into NYU RD and get potentially some $$ (Although I'd consider going there at sticker as well) but I want to use my ED on CLS and UC because I like those schools better and other things equal I'd rather go to one of them.

I don't know if it's officially confirmed, but the scuttlebutt is the median is now 171 from 172.

yeah, they didn't tell us, but given the drop in the quartiles, we're pretty sure this is the case.

Also, RE: EDing to CC and switching to RD after getting into N: It was done a least once last cycle to my knowledge. The person didn't seem to have any trouble with it.

Added to the OP: First day decisions went out for the past few years. Credit to Tiago Splitter from the c/o 2015 thread.

If so, does that mean that they are less likely to admit a 170 this year than last year?

they probably don't, especially now with decreased LSAT takers and USNWR's continued move away from score averaging.

I've been wondering about this, too - I'm a 167/176 so will make quite a big difference to me. Why can't we all just take highest score....?

They almost certainly take the highest score.

This. Whatever they say, there's literally ZERO incentive for them to look at anything but the highest score.

I was 166/176 and got money. Though I did get in pretty late.

Hello Everyone! New to this site. NYU 2016! I am studying like crazy for the LSAT. Moved to NYC a few weeks ago after undergrad last semester to pursue my dream school. Met with a counselor, and I am feeling good. At least for now, LOL!

Your late acceptance was, most probably, because of your GPA rather than your first LSAT score. So, your late acceptance is not indicative of them averaging scores.
