They re-UR you like literally every time they glance at your application. It doesn't mean anything

Except it's not? People have asked about the stages of the review process and what each one is called ("processing" vs. "complete" vs. "under review"). Besides people mentioning the dates being updated, no one has suggested if there's a Georgetown-like structure to it.

edit. Thanks to ChampagnePapi and Jam for answering my question.

I saw a list that claimed NYU was the only T14 school that makes offers of admission via snail mail. Is this actually the case? Do they really not send emails/update the status checker with their decision?

God, I hope they email and/or update the status checker. Too impatient for snail mail.

They call admits and you get a "decision letter sent" update in your status checker.

Good to hear they make calls. But that status checker update was exactly what I was afraid of! Why not just include the decision in the update? Oh well.

Probably depressing as fuck to open your status check and just have "DENY" staring you in the face.

ETA: The "huge" font size was disappointing.

Rejections dont start till next year, so you dont have to worry about that for awhile. If you get a DLS before then, youre in.

yep.

ETA: also, if you can access the admitted student website (ASW), that also means you're in.

Not necessarily. I believe NW has a "Decision Letter Rendered" status which can mean a waitlist or hold.

So, is it credited that the first batch of ED applicants receives their admissions decision sometime in the first week of December?

Even if that's historically been true, the hurricane may have set them back this year. NYU was without power for about a week.
