Does NYU treat January 1st as a strict deadline for the scholarship essays, or is there a chance they'll consider late submitters too if necessary?
ETA: This is the language: "Applicants who wish to be considered for the following School of Law's Scholarship Programs must complete their application by January 1 and must have a complete law school report ready to be requested by the Office of Admissions no later than January 1" ---seems pretty strict.
I don't know for sure, but when I had emailed them RE AnBryce essay on Dec. 31st, I had initially received an out of office auto-response. I decided to attach it and send them another email that same day, anyhow (just in case they'd take it). When they reopened on Jan. 2nd, they responded to the first email query I had sent (I assume they hadn't yet seen the next email that actually had the attachment) and they said I could (still) send it via email (they subsequently acknowledged receipt of the second email with the essay attached). So I'm guessing they're a little soft on the date.
