Nope. The phone call was just a quick congratulations and "you'll receive an accepted students packet in the mail." I also received a surreal email from Housing. Unfortunately, my best friend (who happens to be a Rottweiler mix) is not allowed in the student apartments, so he and I will live off-campus if I attend.

Thank you for all the kind congratulations! I'm thrilled with the acceptance alone, but out of curiosity, does anyone knows when NYU starts offering aid and inviting applicants to interview for Root-Tilden-Kern?

I think general scholarship offers come in April and the interviews for the named scholarships come in February and March, at least according to last year's thread. Also...I too am a dog owner (45 pound Australian Shepherd/Rottweiler mix) and am embarking on the journey of finding dog-friendly housing in NYC, so we should form a support group!

Just asking here but does it mean anything in the LoR section of the LSAC website when some schools, the background in the bar is a darker blue and for others, it's a white? They all have the little letter icon meaning it was sent off, but just wondering about that. Thanks!

Also if you're invited for RTK and don't get it, would they likely give you a substantial (like half tuition or more) scholarship anyway, or would you get nothing?

I didn't do one either. Other people said that they wrote one and submitted it via email a little while after submitting their application, which I might do this week.

I submitted on 1/7 and have not received a tracker yet. Is this of concern? Should I call / email them this week ?

I'd give them at least a full week from receipt date before being concerned...

I figured as much. I received 10 others by the next day that's why I wondered what's up with nyu.

No Why NYU just yet, I got the impression that it's kind of obvious, though I already have some NYC ties and did undergrad at NYU as well.

I imagine I could blend a LOCI with a Why NYU, but my question is really about the timing. Would it make more sense to do so after already having been WL-ed?

Yeah, I would say you might as well save the LOCI until the WL --although with your numbers I would be really surprised if that actually happens.
