Question for you NYU app veterans: I just submitted my app to NYU Jan 2nd and got access to status checker today - "Application under review" as of 1-3-13. Is this normal for NYU to have me "under review" this quickly, or did all of you get "under review" as the first status you saw on the status checker as well? Thanks for the help!

+1. Literally was about to ask the same question.

I submitted on 1/4, got the status checker today, but still on application being processed. They may be moving a little faster now that we're nearing the deadline.

Took about 2 days for me. Submitted 11-13 (Saturday), went UR on 11-15.

I got a UR2 on 12/26 and still nothing. Lots of folks went straight to decision letter sent.

I believe so. I don't recall seeing an Application Complete status. Feel free to jump in, anyone who did - I wasn't checking the status checker very regularly back then!

ETA: Now that I think of it, they were probably just updating my file with my new GPA from LSAC.

Oh wow, mine was just updated as well. Perhaps with my new LSAT score? I wonder if they would change need to update the UR dates for these kinds of changes though. Maybe they're looking at our files a second time?

PSA: Updates don't mean anything. I've been in their office. It's not some complex though-out system for an easy 7-step review process where dates correlate to acceptance/denial/waitlist. It is literally several piles of papers lying on the floor. When they look at your application, they update so that they can tell whether they've looked at it.

Seriously, don'y fret about it guys.

Thanks for the intervention. It's so easy to start over-analyzing every single date change and update. Given your description perhaps I should just hope they don't lose my application

Bless you. LSN doesn't have much data on when January applicants heard back. Do you have any insight? Seems like mid/end of March is the earliest.

I don't. I would expect late Feb at the earliest, but if you're gonna get waitlisted, you literally hear nothing until that date, which is really late.

After reading the second sentence: "Now that you've persuaded us that you would be a valued member of the NYU Law Class of 2016, it's our turn to make the case for you to come here," were you as disappointed as I was that there wasn't any scholarship offer in there? Happy to be accepted, but I'm just saying...
