I updated to the 18th. Its unlikely we will hear before the ED deadline - but its possible we'll get decisions earlier than last year, possibly late November (before the Chi/CLS ED deadlines of Dec 1 would be preferable! )shntn wrote:Mine updated on the 16th as well, though I'm still mentally prepared for a December decision from NYU. If we apply by the end of October RD when do we usually find out? And that's still "very early" in the grand scheme of things, right ?

Checking in. Is anyone else writing a "Why NYU" addendum? Good idea or not so much? I'm going up to visit NYU in a few weeks, hopefully that will help me write this addendum.

Yeah, I'm curious about this. I'm definitely considering writing one if my LSAT score isn't as good as I'd like.syr1990 wrote:Checking in. Is anyone else writing a "Why NYU" addendum? For some reason I don't have a tracker for this school, though I have one for the other 8 I am "LSAC complete" for. I was "LSAC Complete" with NYU on October 15th or 16th. Anyone have any ideas?

I think results last year started coming in the beginning of December for applicants who submitted on the early side, and stretched throughout December and January for the rest.toothbrush wrote:If we apply by the end of October RD when do we usually find out? NYU takes its sweet time acknowledging your application with a status checker/application received email, and then again takes its time assuring you that your application is complete. It seems like a lot of people here have gone from Application Processing -> Under Review in a short span of time; it took about 3 weeks for me. Last year's thread shows people waiting 6+ weeks before their app was no longer "processing."outlookingin wrote:For some reason I don't have a tracker for this school, though I have one for the other 8 I am "LSAC complete" for. I think it depends upon your numbers and your wealth.ChampagnePapi wrote:What does everyone think about EDing and paying sticker for NYU?

It's what I'm aiming for. I guess there's an extremely slim chance I could score an RTK, but for me I think the real hurdle with a median GPA and 1-point-below-median LSAT is just getting in at all.ChampagnePapi wrote:What does everyone think about EDing and paying sticker for NYU?

ED to NYU with your numbers, at least in my opinion, seems to give you a REALLY good shot at getting in.
ED admit with money, on the other hand, is a different story.

I would love to believe that, though LSN suggests the waitlist (with a chance at an acceptance down the line) is my likely future. Regardless, I'm going to wrap myself up in the dream of being at NYU next year until they explicitly say thanks but no thanks.lsatprepguy wrote:i don't think your giving yourself enough credit.02889 wrote:It's what I'm aiming for. We had a meeting with career services today who said that although things aren't great, they are getting a bit better.

Visited last week and really enjoyed it. Chill students, engaging professor, convenient locale. Looking forward to getting that app in soon.

Don't forget that things are going to probably be a bit delayed b/c of Sandy. All the nonessential departments here were shut down yesterday and today

I know the consensus here is that ED = sticker, but I myself and a few of my classmates EDed to NYU last year and received generous scholarships so don't count out financial aid completely.02889 wrote:It's what I'm aiming for.
