Just checked my status checker.. I'm a RD applicant and it says my app's already under review since 10/3, and I submitted 10/3.

Is anyone in the same boat? Does this mean we'll hear back soon?

Same, mine went under review a day after it went complete. I really hope this means that we will hear back soon!

Checking in...losing my mind waiting for my October LSAT score.

I have a 3.45 from University of Rochester (ranked #33) and I am a Mexican female with a green card. (so URM)

Took the LSAT before and got a 160. What kind of score do I need to have a good shot at NYU? Both RD and ED?

I'm hoping I scored a 165-170+....but I don't know....I finished! and felt good, but you never know...

My resume is pretty rocking, summer Internships in Law Firms and the consulate in college, one year as a paralegal in Biglaw, and now I'm a paralegal at a mid-size IP firm in NYC.

What do you guys think?

NYU might be the most numbers focused T14. Your resume isn't going to make a difference. URM cycles can be unpredictable, but I'd say you should shoot for at least the high 160's to have a shot.

Good luck!

Checking in. I haven't submitted my application yet, I'm working on my diversity statement. NYU is my first choice, I'll probably apply ED. Good luck everyone!

Hey guys, there's an LSAC forum at the Hilton at 53rd and 6th today till 4. Anyone in NYC should stop by.

Also, on November 7th, there's a Prelaw info session at 3:30 in Vanderbilt Hall.

If you already have all the fee waivers you're gonna get, is there any reason to go to the forum?

I went the NY Forum yesterday. To answer your question, not really much reason. CLS and NYU had a 2L student to talk to. I thought that they were insightful for stuff that had nothing to do with admissions, such as fit, etc.

But if you are dead set on NYU or whatever school, don't worry about it. The NYU adcom didn't seem to care much and def won't remember a face.

Oh, and if you had any particular questions I guess you could ask.

I think if you're dead sure that it's the school you want to go to, then not really, though I always think that putting in the effort, signing your name that indicates you showed up, etc. is always a good thing.

I applied and subsequently received a fee waiver. I sent a response and the admissions office sent me a $75 check so, contrary to the google doc sometimes referred to, it is worth one's time. Good luck everyone!

"Application being processed" since 10/5. Their slow speed is kind of crushing my optimism.

Does anyone know anything about soliciting need-based fee waivers from them?

need based waivers come from LSAC. You may try emailing the admission's office with your stats asking for a merit based waiver.

I've been UR since 10/5ish and just checked my status ==> updated to UR 10/16. Not sure how many updates this is, but again, does this mean we RD folks may hear back in early November?

I'm in a smiilar situation. That seems to be moving fast for NYU, but it seems like a lot of schools are moving quickly this cycle compared to last.

Mine updated on the 16th as well, though I'm still mentally prepared for a December decision from NYU. I'd rather assume it's coming then and be pleasantly surprised if it comes earlier.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
