DLS on 12/10 and an email from Tony Bates on 12/12, but no official letter via mail yet...
considering that i live in manhattan, it seems like the letter was lost somewhere for whatever reason.
should i contact NYU and ask them to re-send it?
also, is it possible that they sent the letter to my permanent address instead of the current address?

Call if you want, but I also live in Manhattan and it took 4 or 5 days for me to get the letter. The only explanation I can think of is that they don't actually send the letter when they change your status checker. Maybe they put it the "To Send" pile or something, and they don't actually get sent for a few days.

I would definitely just sit tight. I also live in Manhattan, was DLS 12/10 and received the letter 12/14. It wasn't even postmarked until 12/12, so if you figure that it takes at least two days for them to actually postmark the letter, it might have gone out on Friday or they may have waited until today to mail it out. If you don't get anything by the end of the week, then it might be worth checking your permanent address and/or calling, but for now just enjoy the wait! Congrats!

Still sitting at UR 10/16 (RD). Waiting for that waitlist or ding any day now. Would prefer to get it soon so I can stop obsessively checking my status.

Either way, I've had a pretty sweet cycle so far considering my numbers, so really, I can't complain. You can't win them all.

Maybe they are holding onto our apps until they get information on the December LSAT test takers to see if they can do better? :-/

Your cycle thus far is maddeningly inconsistent with your numbers. Might be worth it to toss an app to NU and see if they throw money at you.

Does anyone have an idea of the amount of financial aid NYU typically gives out. I know hearing anything about that will take quite some time, but man is that tuition and cost of living looking like a killer!

Their status checker is the worst imo. I can't open it using my work IE browser (it's old, and I can't upate it). I can't check it using Firefox or my iPhone. Why is their status checker the most difficult?

try this trick

1. Go here: https://www.law.nyu.edu/admissions/jdad ... /index.htm
2. Click the "Academics" tab
3. Then click the "Admissions" tab
4. Click "JD Admissions"
5. Click "Application Online Status Check"

..and Voila (hopefully). Don't ask me how i figured that out.
