NYU is a dragon that lives on top of a pile of money (and owns half the village).

I can't load the status checker to see if my date changed. I blame you all out there constantly hitting refresh

They offer named schollies that you'd have had to apply for before deadlines (gone now I think), other merit based schollies that you're automatically considered for, and need based grants that you'll have to fill out needaccess to be considered for.

ETA: I don't think people 'know' that they'll be offered a scholarship. I think it's more of an educated guess based on past cycles and other people's experiences.

There doesn't really seem to be anything inexplicable about being UR for months without word from NYU. They haven't released WL notifications yet. The huge majority of people who have been UR forever without word are in that group.

Schools that have been WLing all along and have still been sitting on some apps for months are a bit more strange, but NYU isn't in that group.

Considering that Harvard is apparently not even gonna dignify me with an interview, I somehow doubt I'm gonna get into Stanford, or really any T10.
