This happened to me last week. Nothing came of it (at least not yet). So while you may go DLS soon, I wouldn't bank on it.digifly wrote:Updated yesterday after almost 3 months, and now I update again to today's date. Is NYU doing daily updates like Michigan now?

After getting zilch in merit aid from NYU and 75k from UVA, I'm not considering e-mailing NYU to see if they'd be willing to reconsider my offer. What are y'all's opinion on this? I'm below median on LSAT and above 75th on GPA for NYU if that matters at this point. Is it better to start negotiating now or wait until the end of the cycle (April-ish)?

If you would prefer NYU over UVA, all things being equal, I'd definitely go for it. I haven't negotiated anything yet, but as long as you're tactful, I can't see how it could hurt. They probably won't match UVA, but they could give you something. Since you already have offers from both schools, I think you can start now.RSterling wrote:After getting zilch in merit aid from NYU and 75k from UVA, I'm not considering e-mailing NYU to see if they'd be willing to reconsider my offer. how do you know you got 0 already? unless you are anticipating getting something better, i dont think it hurts to send your uva offer and ask for something, anything. itll proabbly be like 25kRSterling wrote:After getting zilch in merit aid from NYU and 75k from UVA, I'm not considering e-mailing NYU to see if they'd be willing to reconsider my offer. By some miracle, I'm in! Somebody in the admissions office left a pleasant voicemail on my cell while I was at work. AA male 165/3.6... I'm really surprised I squeaked in.

@banjo, yes, exactly. I got CLS last week but I was hoping NYU would give me some major $$$. I don't get it...

NYU sent out some scholarship info. I got an email saying that I didn't receive one, for example. I was admitted around Jan 11, and sent my info a few days later.orbotop wrote:what do you mean when you say you "got word"? how did you find out about $ already? i too was a Dec admit, have heard nothing in re: $.RSterling wrote:I was a December admit, and got word last friday.az21833 wrote:how do you know you got 0 already? unless you are anticipating getting something better, i dont think it hurts to send your uva offer and ask for something, anything. itll proabbly be like 25kRSterling wrote:After getting zilch in merit aid from NYU and 75k from UVA, I'm not considering e-mailing NYU to see if they'd be willing to reconsider my offer. Just to clarify, anybody who received scholarship info (besides Vanderbilt) submitted need access already right? For those of you haven't heard anything, that's probably why.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
