Just realized I switched to UC2 on Dec 14th! (my UC1 was Dec 6th)

From what I've read on the thread, is it safe to assume I will probably find out in January?!

Sorry to ruin any positive vibes but I'm way below both medians and also just became UCR1.

Hey all, for those interested in off-campus housing, I found this while searching online. Not sure how accurate it is but it appears to be helpful...

Awesome find. Looks like those Wharton kids have some pretty expensive tastes.

Yeah, you're not kidding. Doormen? Shit, if I get into Penn I'm just hoping for an apartment with an on-site washer and dryer.

EDIT: Fitness centers too? F that.

They're generally coming off gigs at i-banks or consulting firms. They seriously live it up, from what I've seen around town.

2400 Chestnut is a popular choice for grad students, though, and rent isn't awful for a 2BR if you share.

Ha, when I looked at Penn Law's housing webpage (not that I have an offer :( ), it said that the rittenhouse square was a popular choice for many law students. So I looked up this place, and rent was like 3k-4k/month. I was like, huh? seriously?

Probably 2Ls and 3Ls, and that might have been pre-Recession.

Literally on Rittenhouse Square will run you a pretty penny indeed. But the larger Rittenhouse area has plenty of more reasonable options. I know 1Ls who lived there.

I'm amazed how many 1L's spend $1200+ a month on rent, tbh (well, just guessing based on where I know people live and how much those places cost). Maybe they just have wealthy parents/families helping them out, or don't realize how crippling the debt can be, or maybe they just have a lot of savings, who knows. But I just think its excessive and unnecessary.

Yeah, basically all the 1L's I can think of who live in center city live in the Rittenhouse area.

Super noob question: Does the status checker actually indicate a differentiation between UCR1 and UCR2? I went UR on Dec 1, then the date was later changed to Dec 10. So am I now UCR2? Thanks

If you remained at "Under Committee Review" with the date changing from 12/1 to 12/10, you're UCR2. There's no indication of such on the status tracker itself.

And congrats.
