I'm non-URM, scored ~175 but didn't receive anything; no hidden waivers.
What LSAT score do you need for a waiver??
I asked for one, with a 170, and the request was granted. Just shoot them an email, and I'm sure you'll get one, if you haven't already.

Even though I know on an intellectual level that none of the multiple e-mails I get from Penn on any given day will be a response on my app, I can't help but be disappointed when I open them and see another reminder about homecoming weekend (or whatever it is).

I've been so focused on Cornell/UVA/GWU that I legit forgot that I applied to Penn. And Chicago!

Asked and rejected. Uh oh. Bad sign?

My gpa is nowhere near yours though..

Any status check movement at all?

Anyone under review yet (ED?)?

RD? No. ED? You never know, but highly unlikely.

I would kick back and relax until after the new year.

Did they give a reason for rejecting the request? Maybe they have already given out their allotted number of fee waivers. I wouldn't worry about it too much, assuming you can actually afford the application fee.

I have a significantly higher LSAT and I got the "Sorry, CRS only" runaround when I emailed to request one. I am disappoint.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I searched... How should I title my optional essay so it is clear which topic I have chosen? They ask for the optional essays to be titled, and by that I am guessing standard titling would apply, like "Personal Statement", "Optional Essay", etc. All my documents have headers and right now it is titled "Optional Essay" but I think it needs to be clearer. I chose the "What defines you?" prompt. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Strange. I explained that I am applying to a joint JD/PhD program, and that requires applications and application fees to both programs. Maybe that helped me get one...

I know this is a really general question but if someone would provide me with some feedback I would really appreciate it. The essays are not numbered either.

My essay was about an item on dean fitt's list. the title of my essay was something like "Item on the Dean's List"

So if you were particularly interested in genuine integration with related fields you could title it something like "Focus on integration with related fields"

My guess is they threw "titled appropriately" in there to make sure you put any kind of title on it at all instead of sending in an untitled essay that could appear to be a continuation of something else in the fat 30 page packet they get for you. Let them know which topic you chose but don't write your essay in your title. You could probably even get away with "Essay topic #2" even though they aren't numbered. Calm down though. You seem like you're stressing about little things. I'm hardly an authority on admissions processes but I would be surprised if the title of an essay was regularly a key factor in an admissions decision.

I actually just put the whole text of the question in italicized bold on the top of the page. I figure they won't hold formatting against you as long as it's clear and consistent. Don't worry about it too much.

Does anyone know when ED applicants can expect to hear back? Is it for sure during that mid-late December window?

Two questions-

I have a split at 3.95 GPA but 168 LSAT. Reasonable to get in to Penn, or am I out?

Also - wrote the teamwork essay, but debating writing Fitts. Not sure if I have something great to say, but with those numbers will it make a difference?

Thanks!

You have a shot but a waitlist is more likely (unless URM)

If you really want Penn for sure, you'd have to ED.

I looked at the list there and only one person with a 176 get in, and they had a 3.3 GPA; the rest were mostly waitlisted. YP, right?

Yes, Penn is notorious for YPing high-LSAT splitters.

Just looked this up from last year's thread and thought I'd share: Penn definitely has an "under committee review" status that is distinct from the "in the queue for review" status, and last year folks (mostly ED, though some RD) started to switch to under review around November 10, though with most of the status updates happening after Thanksgiving.
