Anyone else submit an application to the Toll PI Scholars program? Heard back yet? They said by March 15 but I'm already getting antsy.

I did. There are several others on here who did as well, if you do a search. I am blanking on user names now. I don't think anyone has heard back yet.

Congrats az!

Accepted via phone call around 3pm!!

3.99, 172
Complete 1/22 and sent in the Dean Fitts supplemental essay that I should have written in the first place 2/21

I wanted to return the call but by the time I could call the office back it was already closed and you can't leave a voicemail - it is weird to send them an email thanking them and emphasizing my excitement instead? I'm really hoping to get some good merit aid haha

ppl who have gotten wilson or toll

so they require a decision by april 12th or so and make you sign something

but all it says is I accept the university of pennsylvania law school’s James Wilson Scholarship offer and intend to matriculate at the university of pennsylvania law school in the fall of 2013. No language of withdrawing elsewhere?

Can you keep apps open even other admissions if penn is ur top choice but you arent sure

very unclear

Or because you're going to attend Harvard anyway. (Congrats, by the way.)

As for the PI thing, I and plenty of others submitted extremely PI-tailored apps, so I don't think it's necessarily a turn-off for Penn.

for toll it was explicit that you have to withdraw all your other apps

I'm pretty sure they can't make you due that under LSACs guidelines for financial aid. There is a Yale admissions blog about this somewhere.

This is from LSAC's financial aid guidelines. I think the key is new offers. i.e.: they can ask you to withdraw from schools you've already been accepted to, but they can't make you withdraw from schools you haven't heard back from yet.

"After April 1, except under binding early decision plans, every
applicant should be free to accept a new offer from a law
school even though a scholarship has been accepted,
a deposit has been paid, or a commitment has been made to
another school. To provide applicants with an uncoerced
choice among various law schools, no excessive
nonrefundable deposit should be required solely to maintain
a place in the class"

For reference, I cannot find anything about withdrawal in the Wilson materials. The only relevant section in the scholarship agreement is this: "I accept the Scholarship offer and intend to matriculate at the university of pennsylvania law school in fall of 2013."

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
