I'm 169/3.83.
Same numbers for everything except gpa. Either we're all screwed or were in for a nice surprise ;).

Berkeley is pretty arbitrary/unpredictable with decisions so just gotta wait it out.

From the volume of fellow 11/21'ers (many with similiar #'s) I'd say its way too early to get too anxious.

ETA: Maybe next week? Or January?

In the same boat as you guys, actually went complete earlier. If we don't hear back by the end of January then we are most likely headed toward a ding. Between now and then I don't see any reason to be worried. Just forget you even applied to Berkeley, they aren't predictable.

I'm in a very similar boat to you two -- same submit and UR dates and very similar #s. Are either of you on LSN? Mine's in my profile.

Well...at least they wait to ding people until after those still in undergrad finish their Fall finals....

The good news is, according to Regulus' numbers, there are still as many accepts in two weeks as there should have been this week...just a lot of dings to go with it.

This upcoming week should actually be the week with the most accepts of the entire cycle. It wasn't until the second week of January that Berkeley started dinging applicants on LSN last cycle. Accordingly, if this year is anything like last year, we should see a lot of admits this week, a few the following week, none the week of Christmas, and then another few during the first week of 2013 before the dings start coming in during that second week. (Even though dings will be coming in there will still be a few people admitted every week with another big announcement the 2nd week of February.)
Haha, well that deescalated quickly :)

Or, that escalated very quickly, because everyone now has to hope that they get a call next week!

If we went UR this past week we shouldn't expect to get anything before January though, right?

Also from what I can tell on LSN there are a ton of acceptances thus far.

Yup, but there is still a lot of room for those of us still waiting, too. :D

As of December 9th, 2012, there have been 44 LSN users admitted to Berkeley for the 2012-2013 cycle. However, by the end of the last cycle (2011-2012), there were 155 admitted LSN users. Accordingly, based off of past data only about 30% of the total number of people who will be admitted on LSN have received their notification thus far. I suppose it is comforting to know that roughly 70% of the acceptance announcements have yet to go out.
I was worried since it seems like there are much less LSN users this time around, so more acceptances could be more significant since that many with a smaller pool...? IDK.

Regardless, I love your data mining! Berkeley is my realistic #1 and I really want in. Is anyone else seriously thinking they will choose B over CCN? I was raised in the bay and have never been to NYC so that area seems not appealing to me. I don't know...even with employment stats I'm unsure. Guess we'll see how the cycle plays out.

I would almost certainly choose Berkeley over Columbia. Probably an obectively dumb decision but I love Cal.

If I had the stats (which I don't), the only schools that could top Berkeley for me would be Yale or Stanford, and I'd still have trouble choosing Stanford over Berkeley.

Same, and I'd throw in SLS which is even dumber. I visited their undergrad for some pre-med conferences awhile back and we were all blatantly disrespected because of where we went to school. I don't ever want to be associated with that. I'm not saying this wouldn't happen at Cal, but I've been there a lot and it hasn't yet. It would be awesome to have the option of choosing between any of these schools though. Hopefully next week! Good luck to you all!

Yep, unless Harvard or Stanford dip below to take me, I would choose berk.

If I want to live and practice in California, is choosing berk over CCN that dumb?

If you want California, B almost always > CCN.
