Yours had a fee waiver attached?

The 10/15 email was just a mass email, no waivers. As in, please pay my app fee.

I got both emails and yes the 2nd one came with a fee waiver. Does Berkeley usually give out fee waivers? Or is this just purely them trying to increase their applicant numbers.

I got a fee waiver.

This letter has been sent to you as part of a pilot outreach plan to encourage students from the California State University and the University of California systems to apply to Berkeley Law School. Based on information made available from the Law School Admission Council, I believe you may be a good candidate to join the student body at University of California at Berkeley, School of Law. I write to encourage you to consider applying for admission this year and to provide you with an application fee waiver.

Took Oct '12 LSAT, over 3.75 GPA, not URM. If only this is a sign for a good LSAT score ... I didn't have my hopes up for Cal, but this gave me a little hope. Then again, everyone at UC/CSU may have received one.

Pretty sure Berkeley giving out fee waivers is one of the seven signs of the Apocalypse.

That would be sweet if it meant that they knew people's LSAT scores already, I've been getting emails from Columbia and Yale lately and I don't have a shot with my current numbers. Then again a couple pages ago that theory was once again questioned so probably doesn't mean anything.

I havent gotten any letters from Columbia or Yale, but i did get a fee waiver from Penn too this morning. I got both emails from Berkeley and the second one mentioned that they are giving out fee waivers to increase applications from the UC system (i went to berkeley undergrad), so it may not mean too much. Still, I'm hoping.

Under review today as well! I'm really hoping for some "holistic approach" love from Berkeley!

Does anyone know how long it took last year to get a decision after going under review?

Under review about three weeks after "application received."

Nervous. As. Fuck.

ETA: Looking at LSN, first wave of acceptances was 11/21 last year. Those were all people who went complete first week of October. First wave who went complete around now was 11/28-30.

I think this too. I got a similar email from UC Hastings. No Fee waiver, just an email telling me about their law school and encouraging me to apply.

Just got an email from Berkeley telling me I am under review! :D (I had applied about a month ago)

Usually they only give need-based waivers... interesting!
