Anyway I refuse to have any hope. My hope is dead. Gimme my ding.

Active duty military, few other things, but that's it. You all still have hope!

For others benefit:
Sent 1/4, Received 1/7, Complete 1/14, Accepted 1/22.
171/4.0/Non-URM

Noticed on LSN that no $ has been given out yet.
- Are there any scholarships you have to apply for
- Is any money given out prior to financial packages or all with the package?
- Will boalt offer me 150k via matching if i have 150k at UVA? if so, paint me yellow and blue now

thanks all

On the ASW, you can select to be considered for certain named scholarships. However, most of them are pretty specific (like one for Blind applicants, for example). The Matching Scholarship is what you "apply" for.
From what I know, money is given out first with the named scholarships (see above), second with the financial aid info, i.e. very occasional need-based grants, and third, the matching.
In answer to your matching question, I've heard Cal will not match UVA $ for $. They will probably give you like half of that since all t14 schools know UVA is ridiculous with merit aid

So there was a 2 day gap for me between acceptance email and admitted students webpage information. For the named scholarships, everyone is automatically considered for them, but theres a form called... "Optional Scholarship Interest", where you can select certain ones that might apply to you, and there you have an optional essay component where you can specify why they might apply to you

Sigh. I am so late to the party.
Just submitted apps today. I was highly debating whether it was truly worth the $96 knowing I almost certainly getting dinged (173/3.53 AND a really late in the game app).
But, you never know this cycle, and I didn't want to think "what if"

As someone who has no chance at Stanford, wants to go to a t10 AND stay in California, it's an understatement to say Berkeley is my dream school. Here's hoping.

Berkeley hates me. It's okay. We all know how they feel about sub-5.0 GPAs. They'll accept them sometimes, but only begrudgingly.

Speaking of faculty review....My status checker headline thing just change dto say this, I think within the past hour or so. No email though. GPA well below median so I'm pretty pumped!!

Your application at UC Berkeley Law School has passed an initial administrative review and has been selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee.

Edit: Weird things are happening!! I refreshed the status checker and the UR date changed to today and the old language is back up at the top.....

Status just updated to "Your file is complete". It had previously said something like "under review". Any idea what this means?

maybe you're all picked for faculty review and therefore your file is back at complete? it'll go 'under review' when the faculty member starts to review?

I now suspect they were just training a new employee on how to update the system and something got screwed up.

Or ding.
