FAFSA=NEED
Merit = GPA/LSAT/Softs/Application Quality

I was told that I have to fill out FAFSA AND Needaccess to be considered for merit aid?

Do you have the linke for that? I'm intrigued.

Edit: sounded douchey as previously phrased.

Hey everybody, I have a request.

If anyone here has used mylsn.info (LinkRemoved) and it has proven to tremendously aid you in the law school admissions process, please consider voting for LSATSCORES2012 in this poll. He is the creator of this tool and because of the degree to which it has aided me in my application process, I feel he should without a doubt be the winner of the tittle, "Most helpful poster" for 2012. If you agree with me, please vote for him too.

Thanks!

You can estimate it if your income is roughly the same as last year.

I remember that you made the Michigan FB Group as well. I have an intense yearning to be a member of Berkeley Law C/O 2016 but the odds are stacked against me. :cry:

+1

This. You can put in your best guess and indicate that you have not yet filed taxes. Then when you file taxes, go back and adjust. Your priority is based on the date of initial FAFSA filing (or so UG financial aid folks tell me, and I assume it is the same).

Of all schools, Berkeley really does seem to care about the whole picture... so don't give up hope yet. There's still a lot of time left in this cycle.

And to back up my claim... there were waves of acceptances for people with your submit date all the way through mid-February of last year. Check out these graphs (sent date is on the left, acceptance date is on the bottom): --LinkRemoved--

Besides that, your chances at Michigan, by the numbers, weren't great (only about 22%, see: --LinkRemoved--) - but clearly they saw something they liked. Hopefully Berkeley will see the same thing.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah, I'm really grateful that Michigan accepted me. I didn't see that coming at all. I've been using your site a lot to check my chances and while it's been helpful in tempering my expectations, I still hope against hope that I'll be that lucky outlier. :P

Thanks for the encouragement!

I assume all applicants got the Berkeley financial aid email? I don't think I was accepted....

EDIT: Yup, right there in the first line of the email.

Yup, they even bolded the phrase "all applicants" to emphasize the fact they we have not yet been accepted. Awesome.
