Anyone else have funky spacing issues with the application preview (before submitting)?

There are pages with just one line of text on them...

I had that too. I think it's just how they space it.

No money yet but I have a phone interview for a deans scholarship next Tuesday. If anyone has had one yet I'd love to get a heads up on what to expect

Whaaaaaa I didn't even know B had dean's scholarships. When did you get accepted/when did they talk to you about deans scholarship?

Did you go UR or complete on the 18th? I went UR then, so I'm hoping that means news is on its way. And, if you don't mind me asking, what were your numbers?

I got the UR email on the 18th and my #'S are 170/3.84.

Just to be sure all info was correct I looked up the email. Its called a Deans Fellowship and it ranges between 25k per year to full tuition, however nothing is guaranteed (just the nomination at this stage now). It was mentioned during my acceptance phone call but I thought I might have dreamed it up in my excitement. I got an email confirmation a week or two later (midDec) to schedule an interview. I haven't found any info on TLS so maybe its new? I'll be glad to answer any questions about it after next Tuesday for others though

Edit: I looked online and Berkeley's website says the fellowship is between 10-25k/year but my email says theyre typically between 25-full so that's puzzling.

Huh, cool! Sad I didn't get one, but best of luck. You're the first I've heard.

I didn't even get a phone call, just an email :( still kind of sad about that, hah!

Nope; no URM. I also have not climbed Mt. Everest, written a bestselling novel, played in the NFL, or won a Nobel Prize.

Well I'm an Irish-American who's climbed Mt. Monadnock, finished half of a zombie novel, played little league, and came in second at a middle-school science fair, so.... I shouldn't be waiting too long here.

DFs are not new. But they are rare. I was lucky enough to get one (current student now, though I was not interviewed for it). They are merit-based and they do go up to full-tuition. Good luck!

Checking in!! App submitted today after Dec LSAT.

171/4.0. Feeling OK regarding my chances at Penn but worried about late application, 167 October LSAT and 0 ties to Cali. They probably think I'm a flame haha but id love to go from nyc to Cali for obvious reasons

Couple questions for the experts around these parts...

1) How long does it take after submitting to get a received e-mail? And then how long until a complete email? Is there a status checker?

2) What type of timetable are we seeing for decisions? For me, should I be expecting an answer in March/April?

3) For those admitted, whats the status on merit aid? Do they provide it with your offer of admission? Or do you get a letter a month later? Do you need to apply afterwards for it?

4) For those admitted / denied, how were you informed of their decision? I'm still stranded from my apartment because of Sandy and USPS mail forwarding is spotty, at best.

Great info- thanks to all of you. Wonder if there are # cutoffs for them...

Edit: holy crap went UR one second ago. That took a full 1 day from completed to UR

Were you notified about the scholarship in your original admit email? if not when/how did they notify you? I'm asking because Berkeley is too expensive for me to attend without a scholarship and my admit email said nothing about scholarships.

Anyone submitting their FAFSA ASAP to be considered for merit aid? Is that how this works?

It was mentioned in the call but not the admit email. About a week after the admit email I received another regarding the nomination. But this is not the only scholly at Berkeley- not only does their website list many more, but remember you can submit offers from other schools and Berkeley will consider matching them.

Checking in! Just submitted on Jan 2. 168 x 3.9; hoping for some reverse-splitter love from Berkeley.
Anyone else submit relatively late in Dec or January? I'm already under review as of Jan 4; how long does it usually take them to decide after going UR? Thanks!

No. I did not hear about the fellowship until March. But I'm not sure when others heard about money. TLS and LSN chatter the year of my admission suggested that most of the movement money-wise took place around that time. Also, in my case, this was not a matching award.
