In via email! Huge splitter... way above 75th LSAT, significantly below 25th GPA. Thought I had zero chance considering Berkeley's reputation regarding splitters. Best. Day. Ever.

You're not the typical splitter. A 179 is very very very uncommon. And you basically have a 3.5, not high of course, but respectable. But anyways, congratulations. You deserve it, smarty pants!

berkeley doesn't start dinging people until late January/early February. They're usually pretty good about accepting people in order of submission so if you haven't heard in a while it generally isn't good news unfortunately.

At this stage, I'd say the best hope for early submitters is committee review :|
what would constitute as an early submitter in your opinion? just curious because I submitted around mid-november. My stats are absolutely horrendous for Boalt but this guy...

gives me alot of undue hope haha
this gives me so much hope since i'm just above 25% for lsat and way below 25% for gpa and an URM

Berkeley is still my top choice and don't think it would be possible to convince me to go elsewhere.
You're 3.5 171 right? I'm 3.57 170. I expect a ding but it's my dream too

Last year I applied in November and received the email in February so I think if you haven't heard and applied September - November it could be bad.

hey guys, just went under review.

Does this mean a decision is soon or is this more of a nyu thing where under review only means complete?

Also notification of admissions is phone call right? does status checker change prior?

Thank you!!!

The longer it takes to get a decision, the less your chances are.

But most acceptances up to this point have taken at least a month from the UR date to come in and mine a month and a half.

I really want a response, even if it's rejection.
But I might have to wait 2 more weeks until Feb. Screw that.

I went UR on 11/21. Admit email 1/14, 7 weeks later, so given the holidays disruption, roughly
6 weeks seems fine.

UR since 11/13...no movement since. However, I did have them hold for December LSAT, not sure how this might have affected my position in the magical pile
