Now that you mentioned it, I just took a look, out of 300 people reported on LSN, 80 withdrew out of the 160 accepted.

Holy crap. Maybe all of us aren't so crazy after all for sticking it out on the WL....

I wonder how long it takes for admissions to send acceptance offers to people on their waitlist after people withdraw.... Urgh I'm about to turn in my second deposit to MSU (my second choice) next week, and sign a lease the week after, and I'm dying to hear anything back from UIUC. Grr :/

The second deposit deadline was June 1st, so I imagine they are reviewing who deposited/withdrew and looking over the waitlist - so hopefully there will be some movement soon. I am a bit worried though because I feel like they waitlisted a ton of people, and there aren't too many reported rejections on LSN

Its fairly disheartening that we are here dying for acceptance, yet there are people accepted off waitlist not even knowing if they want to go. I think I read somewhere that they're on the waitlist, and they know nothing about Illinois.

Yep. I guess LSAT/GPA > Begging to get off waitlist. I really hope there is movement this week. Should we start spreading false rumors to make people reconsider attending Illinois?

I feel your pain!
U of I is my alma mater and I'm absolutely certain that very few people want the admit more than I do, but regardless of how much I want it, I reluctantly accept the fact that anything that could have a bearing on how we fare on the WL at this point is purely statistical.
This is not to say, however, that a month down the road, we still don't have a chance 8)

Hello everyone, I just joined the thread because I'm desperately waiting to hear from U of I. Has anyone gotten email from Director Carroll? I hope we hear something this week or next week. I really want to attend U of I and being on the wait-list is killing me! :( I visited the school in April and the law student assigned to me told me that for her class they accepted a lot of people from the wait-list. Let's hope this is true for our class! Good luck everyone =)

According to LSN, there was one accepted off WL on Friday with 154 and 3.77 with $5,000; I suppose its good to see movement, sadly its not one of us.

That doesn't sound like it bodes well. I have to imagine they made all/most of their new waitlist offers if someone has already gotten one and accepted.

I'm still holding out hope that they are just moving slowly putting out all the new offers but it looks like I'll just have to accept one of my other offers. :s Sucks. I really wanted UIUC

WL update email today, but I'm sure all of you have already received it.
Try not to be too worked up about it and take solace in the fact that we haven't been forgotten!

This is making me quite nervous.

I almost freaked out when I got a phone call from a number I am not familiar with in the 217 area code today while driving back to Chicago from Champaign. Turns out it was from my old apartment complex..........

I nearly fell out of bed this morning when I got a call from Chicago, ended up being some telephone solicitor. But yes, I know how you feel, haven't really sleep well and have my phone with me 24/7. Perhaps I'm obsess, but for a good cause.

I also received a call from an unknown number and answered enthusiastically just to realize it was a telemarketer.

Here's an idea for LOCI

Dear Director Carroll,

Hey, I'm still waiting
And this is crazy
But you have my number
So call me maybe?

Sincerely,

Wishful Applicant

how did you guys handle spring semester grades? did you send a transcript to LSAC and then have them resend it to UIUC? Or did you just send an official transcript straight to UIUC?

I sent it to LSAC cause Illinois said they did not want any additional information.

same here. I didn't even get waitlisted last year. I hope you guys get in, but if it doesn't happen, you can always retake and reapply. For me, it was definitely worth it. Good luck!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
