~3 weeks left until classes begin...
which also means, 3 weeks left until the very last moment we know our fate for the fall...

Re: Reporting in: UIUC waitlist
Waitlist movement for U of I seems minimal this cycle, there was hardly any WL acceptance on LSN, and most of them withdrew. So my guess is U of I had a really high matriculating rate and hardly touched the waitlist.

Re: Reporting in: UIUC waitlist
That could be possible. I wish I could find the old threads and see how it went for the previous year and how late into the year it took for people on the waitlist to hear back. Well, if not this year, there's always next year. It could be for the better - but meh, in any case, whatever happens, happens.

If we don't get in this cycle, we should count this as a blessing... I guess...
A fresh cycle means some of us have the chance to retake the LSAT and score higher for a better chance of an admit and more money!

Re: Reporting in: UIUC waitlist
My situation does not allow me to sit a year out, it is either now or never, from a more practical point, with an engineering background, it is in my interest to graduate law school as early as I can while IP/Patent Attorney is in high demand, in that regard, even though U of I would better connect me to my target market of Chicago, the demand for lawyer with technical background is high enough I do not think breaking into Chicago market as a Patent Attorny would be as challenging as lawyers of other concentration. That being said, I would still jump on the opportunity to attend U of I if I should be admitted.

Re: Reporting in: UIUC waitlist
good luck guys! I just want to remind you that retaking is always a great option. Last year, I was straight up rejected from Illinois. But, I took time off to study hard, work, and hang out with friends in order to get the score I needed. It was a great year, and I don't regret my decision in the least.

Thanks Matt. Yeah, whatever ends up happening hopefully ends up for the best. It would be another year off for me though, so all together two years gone. All the best to you for your first year!

Just an FYI, Director Carroll is apparently out of the office till Aug 7th. So at least we can relax this week knowing nothing will happen.

Did she tell you if they're going to be sending out any more letters for admission?

Either way, no choice but to wait
I emailed admissions and they said they may send out some decisions in the next week. So not much we can expect for this week. I'm going to go back to a rigorous study regiment soon.

Thanks for posting this Kyle. It gets so tiring to keep hoping for a response; especially good responses.
