Off the Wait List at UVA!!! Good luck to everyone on every wait list!!! I was WL at Penn, Michigan, Virginia, Texas, UCLA, and GULC so I know how it feels

Can those who've gotten in off the wait-list include info about the number of LOCIs you've sent, whether you went to a campus visit, etc? I think that sort of information could be useful to the rest of us hoping to get off of some wait-lists.

I was pulled off the UMN wl and offered quite a bit of $$. I sent a loci every 4 weeks or so with a mix of the following:

1) I'm still extremely set on attending UMN
2) This is what I've been doing since applying: x/y/z
3) Check out this promotion I got @ work.... still want to go to your school
4) This is what I can bring DIFFERENT to your school
5) Thank you for taking the time to reconsider my application!

In off Minnesota WL. I sent in one 2 page LOCI. In it, I gave them a hard-sell on why they want me. Guessed it worked. I just got my scholly info, not as much as Nammer, but still a decent chunk. .

WL @ Columbia and Vanderbilt; Held @ Harvard. Hoping to get in somewhere great and soon, but will ride it until I can't anymore!

EDIT: I've sent one LOCI to both Columbia and Vandy; I've sent two LOCIs and an additional LOR to HLS.

Yeah, some schools pare down their waitlists around this time and will inform you if you didn't make the cut.

yikes. i thought it was the cold shoulder rejection. guess it could go either way. well I'm still waiting!

I got in!!! Whooo!! I was informed informally by the associate dean of admissions the day before yesterday, got my official e-mail and my online status was changed yesterday.

I'm not sure if sending a letter of intent for the master's program they offered helped sway them in any way, they might not have even looked at it. But I'm pretty damn happy and excited.

Good luck to anyone still on a waitlist! I know...it's not fun
