I plan to after I graduate in a week so I can combine it with a "Here's some more information about why I'd be a great addition to your school" update. And then maybe again if I'm still on the list later in the summer. Maybe that second one won't help much, but it seems like a number of schools suggest doing something to show them that you're still on the waitlist for a reason.

I worked out some (probably useless) stats on the list we have so far. Let me know if you want to see them and I'll figure out how to post it here. Didn't want to post my ramblings if it wouldn't help at all.

Have you seen some of the theories we've come up with so far to explain this mess? You could have calculated the median birthweight of all applicants on the wait list from 1970-1979 and people ITT would want to see it.

Whatcha got?

the only thing i could conclude form the WL spreadsheet was that harvard once again was not playing when it came to gpas...the average gpa from the spreadsheet is 3.77. the non urm av is 3.79 and the urm average is 3.71...but thats not surprising at all

hahahaha fair enough.
I was looking to see if the waitlist pool was relatively stronger GPA or LSAT compared to the target numbers they have. And also compared to last year to get a sense of whether the pool was worse this year or not. Also wanted to just get a count of how many "similar applicants" we have. So I got the 25th, median, and 75th for the entire pool and the nonURMs. I also took the value of the product of GPA-LSAT to try and see where each applicant stands with a combined measure. So if you take your GPA and LSAT, multiply it, you'll get a relative measure to compare to others. This is not very helpful (Since we don't actually know Harvard's index).

2012:
''''''''''''''''LSAT GPA Product
25Tot 168 3.7 629.185
50Tot 171 3.8 654.9
75Tot 174 3.9 669.875
Mean 171 3.77 644.41

25nU 170 3.7 642.1
50nU 173 3.8 661.2
75nU 176 3.9 672.26
Mean 172 3.79 654.87

2011:
''''''''''''''''''LSAT GPA
25Tot 169 3.64
50Tot 172 3.82
75Tot 174 3.9
Mean 171 3.73

25nU 170 3.745
50nU 171 3.845
75nU 174 3.92
Mean 171 3.78

2012 is slightly weaker in GPA, slightly stronger in LSAT.

Then looking at the distribution of scores to know how many people are where you are:

LSAT LSAT # %
160 162 3 5.08%

The main conclusion here is I spent way too much time on this.

Sorry its hard for format that stuff here. It's easiest if you just copy what i posted into excel...it'll be easier to read that way.

This might be a little depressing to think about, but wouldn't it make sense for there to be no movement until after May 16th? Since we know that there's a good chunk of recent admits with that as a deposit deadline...

I don't think it's depressing at all.

That being said, I really think there's not going to be movement until the week of May 14th or May 21st. Both for historical reasons looking back on their timelines, and for the most recent deposit deadline. I think we can all relax for this week.

haha. After 2 months of nearly constant panic waiting for H and S to get back to me, I'm relishing in this 10-14 days that I'm not expecting to hear anything from Harvard. Of course once the first KB1 is posted I'll go back to freaking the fuck out, but until then I'm trying to keep my blood pressure reasonable.

This is what keeps me checking back. But I like the idea of the calm before the storm.

With Harvard anything can happen...usually WL-KB1 emails go out in the 1st or 2nd week of May. Last year they started on the 3rd but due to the Dean Shuffle that Harvard was doing that was likely not going to happen. 2 years ago they started on the 6th even though a few didn't get wait listed until the 10th. But we don't know if there were various deadlines for that cycle.

They could have calculated something from those who had the May 1st deadline...i don't know how many people had the May 15th or 18th deadline. Also given that these people had other school deadlines to meet, some will probably get back to Harvard before the deadline.

In summary..anything can happen but i would def not put money on this week ( but i stop making bets a long time ago)...even though it would be great to get a WL-KB1 soon

So I guess we learned that the spirits weren't keeping you down - that should be a big personal win, right?

Or, my other theory, that they DO take weekends and your third day is tomorrow and we see KB1s.

Oh no, I doubt that will happen. The day after she read my palm, the psychic saw me going to work and started telling me how "I need to do something for myself, to cleanse myself of the evil presence, but it's gonna cost me..."

So I don't think she took any steps towards cleansing me and was only telling me what she'll do - IF I pay her :(

If I see a wave of KB1s, and none of them is for me, I'll go and pay her for a cleansing :D :D

I really hope there isn't any movement this week, because I haven't even sent in my LOCI yet! Currently writing it, but this is pretty tough without having any changes/updates to talk about.

For people wondering about sending in LORs, I had an alum send one in for me and it showed up on my status checker even though he didn't go through LSAC - he just sent it directly to the Admissions Office.

I'll join in this I hope we'll be classmates fun.

I also think we should start a pool. Everyone puts $5 in and you get to pick a date for when WL-KB1s start to roll out again. Winner takes all.

Done and Done! By winner I'm not sure if the person who gets the KB1 or guesses the date but either way I'm winning! I've got it on May 18th. Im feeling the 18th.

Why not make it a charitable fund disbursed to all TLSers in this thread who end up not getting WL-KB1s? :D
