This is why I'm stubbornly clinging to my quixotic dream of afternoon JS2s today. :D

Yea. I'm trying not to, but I'm curious about it. Still banking on tomorrow or Friday.

Oh God I jut calculated, 9 months for me. People in the admissions office got pregnant, had a baby and came back in the time since I applied.

Same thing happened on Friday...but we were disappointed (understatement)... lets just accept that the deans can't multitask... they cant do both JS1s and JS2s on the same day.

Its weird, when I was first waiting for a KB1 and people were waiting for KB2's and they were like this is harder than waiting for a KB1, I didn't believe them. I do now!!

It's shorter for me. I applied on Feb 1 and my fee waiver request didn't go through until like early March.

I still disagree with you all. Still feel like waiting for the JS2 is easier. Maybe you all were less filled with existential angst about the possibility of not getting a JS1 then I was...

I think i am more nervous because if i didn't get a JS1 i could blame it on many things (eg, the whole cycle in general, JS/KB's post par tum depression, errors in essay, etc) but after having a JS1, I know that i can only blame myself if i dont get a JS2...it means i messed up on the interview,

Sooooooo

The interview was a positive experience AND she said that they hoped to have finalized their class "within the next week."

Let the hypothesizing begin.

Thanks for the info!

Sounds like today is out. Maybe tomorrow too. Still hoping for Friday. I don't want to wait another weekend...

first of all..congrats

second, i don't think i can make a concrete hypothesis from this ...the only thing it may validate is that they are trying to fill all spots at once rather than in waves like previous cycles.

I look at it differently. No JS1 = I'm fundamentally not a good enough applicant. No JS2 = I'm good enough, they just didn't have room in the class. I don't think the interview is really make or break unless you royally mess it up, which I doubt you did.

I'm not sure I like the sounds of that for those of us still hoping for JS1/KB1s. :|

Yeah, I agree with this. I think they're looking at everyone they think would be a good fit and then are planning to sift through those to make a final list.

And, yes, she did say "finalize the class."

I think that they want it done rather soon, so my money is on Monday.

I don't think that there's any reason to depart in thinking that Harvard will use the WL JS1s differently from other years. I think this might be a time that we're reading too much into what JS1 says. "Finalize the class" is a broad, general statement that can mean many different things in practice. I don't think that language, in and of itself, is reason to think the WL will be used any differently than from past years.

Further, spots in the class always arise in July/August, as evident on TLS/LSN. So I wouldn't assume "finalize the class" is always that "final".
