Got accepted today! I didn't send a video or LOCI since I didn't think I would get in and if I did I didn't want to pay sticker, but they gave me 20k a year.

Super stoked and definately putting down a deposit. I wish you guys luck.

(I hope this gives hope to non-video/LOCI peeps)

And my numbers are on par with previous medians.

Also in off of the WL last night at about 8pm via email! Super excited as I didn't submit a LOCI or video and got 20k/year. riiiiight after submitting my ucla deposit. awesome.

I got the wait list email on April 17th and I just got my acceptance today which was surprised me because it was so fast after the May 1 deposit deadline.

I did the following:
*video interview (I know I am not good at interviews/speeches but I guess the video didn't hurt me)
*one letter of rec mailed last week
*visited the campus for a tour class visit
*email a LOCI last night
*mailed another letter of rec on Tuesday (I don't even know if they read it yet)

I got an email saying I got in today around 5pm so I don't even know if they got my last letter. I would definitely suggest visiting and writing a LOCI to show your interest. Hope this helps anyone planning to wait it out!

any updates on WL movement? :[ seems like theyre lagging!!! by this time last year they sent emails out letting WLers know that they were about to pull a few people of the waitlist.

It looks like they took a lot off the WL the day after the first deposit was due. I really hope we don't have to wait until July 1 now!

It looks like they took a lot off the WL the day after the first deposit was due. I really hope we don't have to wait until July 1 now!

Why do you think they took off a lot of people? I only saw a few posts saying they got off. Last year they took a few off right after the first deposit, but then sent an official email around May 20th letting WLers know they were going to take quite a bit of people off the waitlist by the end of that week. I'm hoping thats what is happening now.

I talked to someone in admissions and they said that they are predicting taking quite a few people off the waitlist this year. So that's good news!

I actually got in off the waitlist with $$. Though I'm born and raised in SoCal and want to work in Cali, I've been committing to UVA and USC's $$ isn't big enough for me to change my mind.

Thanks! 3.87 and 162. I'll probably attend but still on the fence. I deposited at WUSTL a couple weeks ago and didn't even think I'd get into USC since I didn't do the video thing.

It's interesting, it seems like a lot of the folks who've been admitted off of the waitlist so far have not done the video. I guess how much they pushed it in the emails was a bit misleading, huh? Anyway, congrats again and good luck!

I hope not! I am holding on until the end. I think there probably won't be movement for awhile now, but I there usually is some after the 2nd deposit deadline in July...so we may have to wait until then.

They've already let in a TON of people from the waitlist. I know 4-5 people myself who aren't on LSN. Extrapolate that out and...it's safe to assume they've let in ~100+. I wouldn't get my hopes up at this point, even borderline people with low 160's and mid-3 GPAs who I know got off the WL last year had already gotten in at this point

That's... disheartening. Does anyone have any idea if historically there are many admits after the 2nd seat deposit deadline? Or am I just grasping at straws here?
