UHLC v STCL

Have been accepted to both schools and I am having trouble deciding which to attend.
Can anyone give me a good reason to attend S. Texas over Houston?
I am not getting scholarships from either school.
The cost and bar passage rate are about the same for each school.

Duh? My fault. Go to UH.

Wait...No scholly? Are you URM? "blackdem".... Man, you should get something. But "id go to UH for sure. They have a real hold on Houston and pick up decent to great jobs. UH could put you in a biglaw job in H-town.

if you went to STCL over UH and didn't save any money doing it, you would literally become the first person to ever make that decision.

Maybe the first even with significant savings.

UH>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>STCL

That said, UH is worth nothing even close to sticker price. Do some research on the state of the legal market. This has the potential to leave you with poor job prospects and crushing debt and could really ruin you financially. Retake the LSAT for a mid-160s score and either go to a much better school or go to UH with substantial money (but pay attention to scholarship stips).

What would your living situation be in Houston? Are you going to have to take out loans to cover it?

U of H all the way. I am a 1L at UT and I can definitely vouch for the strength of prestige in the Texas market. I have attended job fairs with law students from other schools. UT/SMU/UofH are very well represented, while Tech/STCL/St.Mary students without local ties are driving to all corners of the state to get free positions. No need to even consider STCL even for the lower tuition. You also have to consider the strict curves that come with many lower ranked schools.
