The class. Was looking forward to Penn, but NYU had been my top choice from day one. No scholly money, but definitely a spot for someone!Indebted wrote:Much appreciated! I did, just included the basic stuff. Really surprised at the lack of movement here, especially with Harvards big waitlist pull.

Sorry about the Ding. I'm sitting on U of Chi NYU and U Penn waitlists and there only seems to be movement with NYU.

Is there likely to be more movement? Has there been any at Penn or should we get set for the final wave of dings sprinkled some acceptances?whatismylife wrote:Where's our mid-to-late July update?? =(

So, there's pretty much no way to interpret this long silence as a good thing right? I mean, it seems like the only explanation is that there are no seats, and they're just staying silent because they know the next email they send will cause a lot of people to withdraw.HotSauce wrote:It's gonna be a bloodbath

I assume as much, because I didn't see anyone here post about any dings for them weeding down the list further like they did before the past two emails.

Maybe there were more non-TLSers as well. Regardless, I agree that the lack of updates likely does not bode well for us.Rampage1 wrote:Dinged today. Best of luck to those still standing!

Any guesses on how many of us they've kept on the list? I assume something like 60-80

I bet it's bigger than we'd like, but smaller than we think.

Did anyone notice that that email didn't actually say "we are keeping you in this small remaining group" or anything to that effect?

Lol, don't "semantics" yourself off a waitlist before they actually kick you out!JamMasterJ wrote:Did anyone notice that that email didn't actually say "we are keeping you in this small remaining group" or anything to that effect?

JamMasterJ -- Always supported you and your difficult cycle, but why stay on if there is no chance of you attending? Especially when there are other people who would definitely attend if the spot was offered. I would think you, more than anyone, would withdrawal from wait lists you weren't really considering.JamMasterJ wrote:staying on for the lulzwhatismylife wrote:So you guys gonna ask to stay on? Re: Penn Waitlist 2012
School is very, very close, and many of those who gain admission this late in the cycle need to make very quick living arrangements in completely new cities. If those last few spots are first offered to potential students who are not interested in enrolling, it will further delay this process for the students who do accept those last few spots and need to make these quick arrangements.jrthor10 wrote:JamMasterJ -- Always supported you and your difficult cycle, but why stay on if there is no chance of you attending? Further, if a student is accepted this late off of a waiting list, that student's deposit(s) will be waived and he/she will be holding multiple deposits (assuming he/she has deposited at another school). If a student holds multiple deposits, any school with which that student currently holds a deposit will be notified and that student may be at risk of losing his/her scholarship/seat in the class after a short grace period. (My personal experience after being accepted off of a wait-list in July)
For these reasons it is both inconsiderate and unwise to remain on a wait list if you do not have any intention of attending that school.
I just wanted to point this out because it was brought up. I don't mean to accuse or call anyone out. Good luck to all who are waiting!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
