just withdrew so that opens up a seat and 12k/yr scholarship... so if you're still waiting good luck, and if you haven't paid your second seat deposit and have decent numbers ask for more money. god luck!

Thanks for opening up some seats! How weird, someone's withdrawal is someone else's number one! Just curious, why did yall pass on Ole Miss?

Withdrew a couple of weeks ago. I've been told that the law building is new and gorgeous. Good luck to all those matriculating! Also, if you're OOS, push for an OOS fee waiver for your first year. I casually mentioned it and got an immediate acquiesce.

My status has been "file is complete" since the beginning of January, and haven't heard a peep since or seen anything change on my status since." I just assume they are so "wow-ed" by my app that they simply don't know what to do with it.

Ole Miss is the only law school I haven't heard from (both acceptance and rejections received from various schools), and I don't know what the deal is. I'm sure they're figuring out how to package my full-ride scholly

don't want to practice in ms... i know ppl from ole miss law who scored out of state placement but it is almost always thru personal networking and connects. honestly all the bad press the OCS has received and what the OCS lady said at accepted students day turned me off. when she handed out the serenity prayer with a list of BAD things you can't change about ole miss law on ACCEPTED STUDENTS DAY... not orientation or anything like that... on the day they are supposed to persuade you to pay the second seat deposit... i knew i had to run... luckily UGA accepted me after that and they have OCI... ole miss dominates mississippi's legal market.. so if i wanted to practice in state or knew i had connects with somewhere i wanted to work out of state i would have gone with no reservation... just not a good choice for me.

same thing happened with me...i was pretty psyched for ole miss...then i saw all the bad press on the OCS...and what that lady said was stressing me out...We all know that you have to hustle no matter what school you're at, but you should at least feel the OCS at your school supports you...they need to get rid of that lady ASAP.

luckily UNC accepted me...lol.

Anyone else STILL waiting? lol. I've been "Application received" since Jan 21st. I'm afraid my application fell into oblivion behind a filing cabinet, never to be reviewed.

My status hasn't changed since March, which is silly because I've heard from every other school (applied to 15). My numbers are fine, but I can't understand how they haven't sent all the rejection/acceptance/waitlist letters out already. Kind of turns me off to Ole Miss.

Same here, status is "file complete" and it's been that way for about 6 weeks. It's rather frustrating since I've already heard from all my other schools and Ole Miss was the first school I applied to.

Just wait it out a little longer. I got waitlisted in late March and then they called me to say they were going to offer me a spot not even a couple weeks later, so they're probably going back through them all again.

I agree with the above poster. Plus, Mississippi law graduates are set in the state. It's not 1955 anymore. And some parts of the state are really nice. I think the median private sector pay is about $90k, which is like $120k anywhere else in the country.
Decided to wait to a year to apply to Ole Miss for 2012-2013 cycle. Won't lie, Oxford has beautiful Southern Belles. Hopefully will find a me a nice one while I am up (hopefully) there.

I plan to practice in Mississippi or maybe in Mobile.

Is anyone starting in the summer? I hope to start in summer of 2013.

Hi,

I am a current undergrad at Ole Miss who will be attending law school here next year.

Anyway, I came here to post because I wanted to let you know that the Admissions Office has finally made a facebook group called "Ole Miss Law Class of 2015." Only problem is...there is no one in the group yet. So, if any of you are accepted and for sure attending, I think it would be great if you could join so we would have a place to discuss living options, classes, etc.

Also, like I said, I am an undergrad here so I am pretty familiar with the town, apartment complexes, bars etc. so if you have ANY questions at all, feel free to ask. I am also looking for a roommate (and the admissions office seems to have no sort of organization whatsoever at connecting people who need or want roommates)...I live on very close to the law school and have an affordable rent so feel free to PM me/reply to this post or maybe we'll eventually talk in the facebook group if you join!

Good luck to everyone still waiting for an admission decision and hope to see you next year!

I have been accepted. I live in Canada and need to escape. I really like Oxford and the building, but I do not know. It is a risk as I am very much an outsider. And I would love to live in the South but I do not know how I feel being restricted to Mississippi. The alternatives for me are in TX: South Texas College of Law and St. Mary's. I need to do some thinking this week.

I lived in MS. Oxford is great! It does not suffer from the stereotyped southern thought process. Ole Miss is a beautiful college, to boot. I have a friend starting law school there next Fall, he was an undergrad there, too. AFA the Texas options, all things being equal, I'd definitely go to Ole Miss. Are you interested in Air and Space law? Ole Miss Law can take you out of state if you do well and get a certificate in Space law, one of the only places in North America you can do that. Plus, Ole Miss own Jackson and the state. You can also find good employment in New Orleans if you graduate near the top.

Ugh. Still waiting! My undergrad gpa sucks but my LSAT was "solid" I guess you could say... I am from New Orleans and a bit older than the average applicant though. I don't know what it is about Ole Miss but I really feel drawn there. Still waiting to hear from LSU and Loyola too. I'd be happy at any of them but something tells me LSU vs Ole Miss would be a TOUGH choice! Took them 6 weeks to send me the status checker ID email but now that I hear they don't accept on there that makes more sense...

Just received my acceptance letter in the mail today after being "on hold" since January. How does Ole Miss inform you if you received any scholarship money, in the initial acceptance letter or later by some other method?

Congratulations on your acceptance! :)
Quick question for you: did your online status checker change, or did you just get an acceptance letter out of the blue?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
