Hey guys,

We're all in this together. Waiting sucks. If there is a school where you 100% KNOW for SURE you will not go to based on other acceptances/offers, please do us all a favor and withdraw.

I will start by withdrawing my app from W&L. Goodluck to anyone else on the waitlist over there!

Spread the love.

2nd the notion. If you know you're not going to attend a school, please do others a favor and take 10 seconds to shoot those schools you won't attend an email. We all would really appreciate it.

Also, if those who post on here could state the schools they withdraw from and when they did it, we would all appreciate it.

Thanks

Will be withdrawing from Cali Western and Hoftstra tomorrow.

I'm only waitlisted at UConn, despite that my GPA and LSAT are both at their 75%.

Withdrew from Maryland a week ago. I'm not sure about other places, but I should be able to narrow it down after this week's visits.

Withdrew from Wake Forest just a few minutes ago. I've already got difficult decisions to make - don't need to wait on a waitlist. :D

This is probably a stupid question, but what is the etiquette for a withdrawal? Do you just e-mail the office of admissions and say, "Thank you for your offer of admission, but I will not be attending your school?" Is there anything else you need to say?

Withdrawing from USF and University of the Pacific - McGeorge today. Their scholarships were insulting.

Hope this helps everyone else out!

You got it. There are example emails and tons of threads addressing this topic. Be kind, courteous, and appreciative for their offer of admission. Many applicants work very hard to prepare materials for their applications. Admissions committees spend a lot of time reviewing those materials, and it is an honor to gain admission to law school. The least an applicant can do is say thank you when withdrawing.

Denver (Sturm) - withdrew last Friday.

Love the Denver area and Colorado in general, but not enough to attend at sticker even if accepted. Besides, I can always continue my annual ski vacations to hang with my old pals now can't I? Can ya dig it? I knew ya could!

Charleston School of Law - never really a starter with me.

Applied there since they waived their app fee. 6 figures of debt for a very recently accredited school. No thanks, but fuck you very much. Charleston, indeed!

Loyola New Orleans - scholarship offer so low it was practically insulting.
