Got my award via email yesterday.
I emailed their office with upcoming deadlines and pdfs of award info from a couple schools.

Holding off on the deposit until I hear back from Stanford and Yale.

Yeah I did. I actually thought it was pretty nice. Only saw one apartment (2BR), but it was very roomy and inexpensive (950ish I believe). They're all really close to the law school, which is awesome. Much, much better than the housing options at NYU, for instance.

At the end of 1L (in May), you get the option of renewing the contract for 12 months, which makes it convenient for 1L and 2L summer jobs in the city (since you're guaranteed to keep it)

haha I feel like I could probably get them to up it to match yours if I really wanted to but now that I know that NYU wouldn't negotiate up from 50k when presented with 62.5k I don't have a huge incentive. excited to have basically decided though!

Im assuming there are others out there who havent received their finaid yet? (and submitted on-time and without mentioning other deadllines)

I imagine this process as non-competitive, but given the competitive and obnoxious nature of law school admissions, Im having a hard time not viewing a delay as a bad sign.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you apply for housing without depositing? I thought we needed a Columbia ID in order to apply?

Is a Columbia ID required? I'm honestly not sure.

They gave me a Columbia ID when I got my financial aid letter and it was automatically associated with my account when I logged onto UAH.
