This. Dithered over sending LOCI when held (about a month ago) and want to know if it's worth it to send one in now (little of note, alas).

This. Now questioning my previous decision.

no loci. i didn't even reply to the email (dunno if i needed to or not though)

For those of you who were held and received JS1s this week.... did your "under review" status change to the date you received your JS1 email?

Look on the left-hand side and it will say "interview scheduled" with the date of the JS1 e-mail. Complete/Under Review date does not change.

I am starting to wish I would be held at Harvard. Went under review late January and not a peep since then...

Well, they say two months, which it was, at least, for me. So no news is probably good news!

I'd like to think that it's good news, but let's face it - Harvard hasn't dinger many people in the last two months... Considering they have thousands left to ding and waitlist (certainly one thousand).... :(

Then hold>no news? That was my feeling...:( Gah, wish I hadn't waited until january to apply.

Well, I think you probably have bypassed the "hold" period, is what I mean. Because they have the two-month waiting thing and "holding" is supposed to let you know that they've at least read your app. By the time it'd be relevant to hold you (end of March, if you submitted in end of January) then it's basically the end of the cycle. So, I'd stay optimistic!

Thanks! Just checked for specific dates and my application was "complete" January 9th (earlier than I thought) and UR january 25th.

I just got the hold email. This late in the cycle should I try to pull together some additional recs or something? Or just wait for the inevitable ding...

I am finally joining this thread officially! :D

Hold email this Friday (UR 1/4, complete email 1/12). I'm guessing (hoping?) this hold doesn't mean much other than "it's been 2 months and we're letting you know we've looked at your application." Then again, this late... as someone suggested, it's probably fast track to the WL :(

The early submitters who have been on Hold since January are probably not in the running anymore, right?

(Haven't been following the Harvard threads).

They literally just started notifying people on hold, so I think all the holds are still in the running.

Maybe in a few weeks, then it's time for some pessimism.

Can someone more TLS-savvy than me link me to last year's Harvard (or held @Harvard) thread?

You have to remember that last year's cycle isn't a good barometer for how this year is going to go, considering the new hire and shifted schedule. They got the first Hold -> JS1 in early/mid February, so it was a lot more anxious for everyone who didn't hear early.

I think we all know there is gonna be hold---->js1 movement. The only thing worrying people is if they are gonna be part of those receiving the JS1's

There have only been VERY few hold-->JS1 folks so far, most were URMs/Ints. Nobody really knows, but it's extremely likely that there will be more JS1s going out for us this week or, at the very latest, next week.
