It's going to take one hell of a scholarship from Loyola to pull me away from LSU after the scholarship they offered. Either way, I would like to know soon.

I wonder what the stipulations are if you start out with less than a 100% scholarship. Probably the same 3.2 stipulation with a 2.7 netting you the next level. I really hate these GPA stips. I feel more secure with funds based on being in a certain percentage of the class. I've got scholarships from schools comparable to Loyola with stips of top 60% and one of top 50%. I have no doubt that that's easier than a 3.2, but I guess the rule should be to not plan for failure but also don't rely on being a superstar.

Dean Allison-Davis told me that all scholarship offers would be made before March 1st. So I would imagine this is the week we hear back. But then again, who knows.

Would it be possible if any of you other accepted students going to ASW can take photos and post them in this thread? I've scoured pretty much every corner of the internet for what this place looks like (including taking a fake drive around the neighborhood via Google) but I'd love an unvarnished portrait.
As for the scholarships, I'd like to hear this week but I'm not counting on it. If I get a reasonable offer it's going to be tough for me to turn it down.

I'd like to see some pictures as well. I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to visit.

Received an invitation to ASW today. Got excited for a minute and thought it might be a scholarship offer, but I realized it was probably too soon. I'm tempted to attempted the ASW, if for no other reason than an excuse to go to New Orleans for a few days. It would be "on business" after all.

Assistant Director of Admissions said via FB that we may receive an email on Friday with scholarship info. Cross your fingers!

I just went and looked. I am assuming that is you that asked the question. But he said "There is a chance." I sure hope so, but I am not necessarily counting on it.

Every time I hear an email come in tomorrow, I'm going to have a minor heart attack. Slight exaggeration. But like I said, if I get a good offer, it's going to be tempting.

Not to be a pessimist, but when they say there is a "chance," I tend to lean more towards they won't than they will. I'm hoping we get scholarship emails today, but just don't think we will.Bluewavesix wrote:Nothing so far...2LT_CPG wrote:Every time I hear an email come in tomorrow, I'm going to have a minor heart attack. Re: Loyola Univeristy New Orleans c/o 2015 ('11-'12 applicants)
Does anyone know the status of scholarships now? Did they A) send out scholarships on Friday, but did so via snail mail rather than email, B) still not make a decision and are going to send out the information via email early this week, or C) done nothing and they are still where they were a month ago? I really don't have much of an idea in regards to what to expect this week besides the admissions board making their decision. Whether that means we will get their decision this week is still up in the air as far as I'm concerned. If the decisions are sent via snail mail on Thursday, March 1st, some of us may not hear anything until the following week.

Just got off the phone with Dean of admissions- she said to watch your emails. They should come out before the first, but definitely BY the first. They're sending emails and hard copies.

Thanks for the update. If they don't come until the first, we're going to have a looooong few days of refreshing inboxes and having our hearts skip every time we get emails!Decandler29 wrote:Just got off the phone with Dean of admissions- she said to watch your emails. Just got an email from Fin. Aid- cue freak out.... until I read it and see that it's just reminding me to fill out the FASFA. Really guys, you couldn't wait until AFTER you tell me about my award, you know when I'm no longer freaking out every time I get an email?!?!?

Did anyone else get that financial aid email and get upset when it didn't include scholarship info?!

Speaking of a tease.... I just got an email from Loyola in regards to financial aid. I thought this was going to be the email that told me what kind of a scholarship I got, but nope! Instead, it was advising me how to go about applying for federal loans and FASFA. It did refernece scholarships, but the email did not say how much. Here is the excerpt from the email about scholarships:argentinaguy9885 wrote:Ugh, what a tease!
"If your acceptance letter from Loyola College of Law stated that you are an applicant who is scholarship eligible, you should be notified of your award amount no later than March 1, 2012."
LOL... now that email was a tease!!!
