i have been forgotten.
Spoke to Kent the other day, they mentioned that they are trying to wrap up all regular applicants by the end of May. Hopefully you'll hear something soon, so that us deferred applicants can start getting our acceptance emails!

Anyone have any idea how many deferred applicants they accept each year?
Not quite sure about how many deferred they admit, but based on what others on this board have been saying, it seems that Kent is struggling a bit to fill the seats. Several people have reported Kent upping scholarship offers significantly when admitted students email to withdraw.

Maybe a good sign for us?

I got my acceptance on Friday with an extremely generous scholarship. I will be withdrawing though. :D

How are you negotiating with a 154 LSAT? Be happy of the admittance to IU-B.
hey guess what douchebag, LSAT score is NOT the only factor in determining scholarships...So please stop speaking from your sphincter.

I'd be happy to go to IU-B any day, you must have extremely strong soft with your LSAT, not to mention IU-B's business school is extremely hard to get in too, and waitlisted WUSTL? I'm jealous.
Thanks, I'm very excited myself. Im still hoping to get in at WUSTL, but as of now im extremely excited about the opportunity to go to bloomington. I read these forums and I watch people spew all types of fake knowledge and mythical ideas about admissions standards and chances, and Id just like to say that from my personal experience, there are certainly schools that view numbers as a secondary accomplishment. The truth is that with my LSAT and GPA, I shouldnt have even been given a chance anywhere in the top 50 according to the sages on this forum. I'm not saying that a strong academic record is not important, in my case my GPA doesnt show that i started out as a biochemistry and biology double major for 3 years and switched to political science my senior year and finished the entire major with a 4.0 in one year. Everything is relative my friend and softs ( non-academic achievments) count too.

In the same boat as everyone else here. I have been complete and in review since 2/13, and nothing yet. No waitlist, notta. I called the addmissions office and the lady told me that if you dont hear anything by the end of may, to call back. Going by what she said, and reading some of the comments here, I am suspecting that the end of May is a target date they have set to decide on most of the applicants that have not been waitlisted or deffered.

Applied in November, deferred in Feb, sent LOCI in March, no response since. I got in at JMLS -looks like that's where I'll be going.

What are you going there to visit for? I went there for the mini-class session, campus tour, and to meet with an admissions counselor. I don't get the sense that it is a large institution, but then again, I haven't really seen most of the campus.

There is an Al's italian beef right next door, which is a MAJOR plus.

I'm just going for a tour and possibly a meeting with an admissions counselor. I'm deferred now but others have mentioned that toward the end of May they will start looking at the deferred list.

well let me know how that goes? is there anything you're going to bring up specifically? I've been thinking about meeting with an admissions counselor again, but I just can't think of any reason to meet and have a productive conversation. I've sent pretty much everything they have requested, but it's difficult to really find something to help you stand out.

The building you were in, for all intended purposes, was the campus. Kent is affiliated with Illinois Institute of Technology, which is about five miles away.

Admitted today via email. I wish this hadn't taken so long. I now have until June 1st to decide and put down the initial deposit. I need to wait to see the package coming in the mail for more info. I was on the "deferred" list, and applied back in January.

congrats man...glad to see they are finally starting to alert the deferred candidates. Do you mind me asking what the title to your email was? I'm trying to determine whether you can tell from the email title without actually having to open up the email.

At this point I'm actually scared to receive anything from them.

I received two emails about an hour apart. The first was from Admissions and was titled "IIT Chicago-Kent Admission". The second email was from a professor and was titled "Welcome to Chicago-Kent". Why did you say that you were hesitant to open email from them? Viruses, or just don't want to hear about another delay?

Congrats to all admitted from the Deferred List. I have been waiting for what seems like forever. Chicago-Kent was the first school I applied to way back when as it was the best school that I thought I had a shot at that seemed like a good fit for me. Today has been a good day as things are really heating up from the wait lists. I was just admitted an hour ago to DU - Denver as well ad Chicago Kent (which is one of my local schools, so my first local option)!! Maybe I won't have to move after all.

I've been following this board for the past three months, and I've finally decided to add my 2 cents.

Chicago-Kent is very slow in processing applications, and it is very disappointing. I have been in review since 02/28, and I have e-mailed the admissions staff several times. They told me that they hope to have all decisions made by the end of May, however, today is clearly June 1st.

I'm confused because I was never wait-listed or deferred, nor rejected/accepted. Simply hanging out here in limbo land!

My LSAT and GPA are decent but not great. However, Chicago-Kent is very interested in accepting GLBT minority students, and since I fall under this category, my theory is that they are waiting until the very last minute to fill "needed minority seats" for statistical purposes with students who don't have amazing scores. Just a theory. Any thoughts?

But from 02/28 to 06/01 is quite a long time to wait, if you ask me !

My deadline to accept the offer of admission made to me on the deferred list was today. They only gave me about 9 days, and the offer was at sticker price. I am guessing that most people will not accept the offer as it is very expensive, made at the last minute, and only with a few days to consider. So, I am thinking that they will be making another round of expensive offers in the next few days.

So what was your decision?

Since I am applying to the part-time program, I probably won't receive a decision until later this summer. Still have my fingers crossed, but the wait is painful.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
