Re: Chicago-Kent Class of 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
I'm guessing Kent is having some trouble filling seats this year given how much smaller the applicant pool is.
I withdrew early last week, and I got an email a couple days ago from Kent telling me that they'd up my scholarship and that they hope I reconsider my choice and attend Kent.
Just thought I'd let you guys know. If they indeed are having trouble filling seats, that's probably a good thing for those of you on the WL.
Best of luck to all of you!

Thanks for the info! I feel slightly less in the dark...I haven't heard anything from Kent since sending a LOCI 3 months ago.rma wrote:I'm guessing Kent is having some trouble filling seats this year given how much smaller the applicant pool is.

Does anyone know how many applicants Kent keeps on their deferred list?

I honestly have no clue. I know Kent has at least 4, since there have been 4 posters noting they are on the deferred list. Either way we should all stay positive!

I'm sure some of you on hold will get in. They've resorted to increasing scholarships and dropping stips to people who've withdrawn, myself included. I'm definitely not going, so hopefully the money and seats go to you guys!

Can those on the deferred list please PM me their numbers? I would like to know where I stand in the deferred applicant pool.

One more will get off the waitlist sometime soon. Withdrew today, despite really wanting to attend. Good luck to all who will attend, and those who are waiting.

Finally got a decision today after waiting for four months. They offered me a $15,000/year scholarship without any stipulations. Too late for them though because I'm set on going to Cardozo lol

I have a feeling that "defer" is essentially a waitlist... it has been 5 months, not a word. Other schools at least email their applicants once every blue moon.

Question for the admitted...How much are the first and second deposits? Because I am part of the "deferred" group, "WHEN" I am finally accepted, I'd like to have some idea of how much i'll need to forkover to keep my spot.

Well... it's going to be very, very hard for me to commit to a retake now... Scholly upped from 4k to 11.5k/yr guaranteed...

this is ridiculous, been in review since early january...withdrawing my application. Have already decided on bloomington, but was hoping to potentially use an offer from kent to attempt to negotiate more money from bloomington. BUT OH FREAKING WELL.

How are you negotiating with a 154 LSAT? Be happy of the admittance to IU-B.

I'd be happy to go to IU-B any day, you must have extremely strong soft with your LSAT, not to mention IU-B's business school is extremely hard to get in too, and waitlisted WUSTL? I'm jealous.disconnected wrote:lawyerinwaiting wrote:this is ridiculous, been in review since early january...withdrawing my application. Spoke to Kent the other day, they mentioned that they are trying to wrap up all regular applicants by the end of May. Hopefully you'll hear something soon, so that us deferred applicants can start getting our acceptance emails!sammyk wrote:anyone still in review? complete and in review since 2-13-12.

Anyone have any idea how many deferred applicants they accept each year?

In review since Feb also. Brutal. Really the only thing I can think/hope for is that no decision is better than a wait list or deferred?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
