Is anyone else under review or if you've been accepted how long were you under review.

Went to visit Davis. everyone was very friendly. the new part of king hall is really nice but half of it is under renovations. the admissions lady giving me the tour said it would be done by the fall. Davis is cute but in the middle of farmland. i am not sold on Davis yet but we shall see how the cycle pans out. generally the tour wasn't super helpful since no more info other than what i have gathered already online was offered.

Well transfering from Santa Barbara, my view is skewed. SB=10 ; UCD=~8

Lot of good looking hipstery girls. Compared to the blonde bombshells at SB.

Halloween is just too much. I just felt like I was walking around forever -- aimlessly.

i applied almost 10 days ago so i don't expect to hear back anytime soon.

however i was wondering whether it would be appropriate to send a LOCI around early february.

UC-D was the first application i turned in and obviously as i have completed more applications, i realize my Davis materials could have been more polished. so i would like to kind of make-up for minor errors by emphasizing how much i really want to go there.

My gpa is 3.51 and my december 2011 lsat is 170 (162 last year but have an addendum about illness). realistically, the only school i can see myself attending next year is Davis (my husband works there and i can't see myself leaving the bay area for 3 years) ... is there some way to get this across to Admissions or is it too early for a LOCI?

Anyone else still "Evaluation in Progress," I figured if there was a batch of acceptances this would light up but still wanted to check.

is it proper form to send a thank you card to someone in admissions who gave you a tour (just called one morning and she said come on over and took me around the same day)?

Still in evaluation since the end of November I think. Hopefully we get some movement soon.

I've sent thank you emails to both admissions reps that gave me tours at the schools I visited. They definitely appreciated and I think it can only make you look good.

Do you enjoy it?

What is the atmosphere like?

Are students generally stressed out about reaching the top 10% of the class or bust?

Thank you :)

Yes, I love it here. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed and non-competitive. There are student sports leagues (softball; bowling; football), lots of student organizations, and lots of social events. Academically speaking, everyone works hard, but nobody really talks about it and nobody talks about their grades. Most grades from fall semester have been released, and I still have no idea how many of my peers did. During finals I felt as though we were all in it together, as a group, and students would freely share outlines and help others study difficult concepts despite the fact that the classes are curved.

I'm sure there's concern about reaching the top 10%, or top 20% of the class. But people don't seem too stressed about it. Or, they do an excellent job hiding it.

King Hall truly does have a unique atmosphere. With the exception of Yale, I don't think you'll find such a cohesive and non-competitive student body anywhere else.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
