@hanman - Hmm, I was Complete 1/19, Under Eval 3/19, and Accepted 3/26.

@RNJDNO1 - The flash drive was in a small paper envelope stapled to the inner lip of the acceptance package. Maybe yours fell off in the mail?

Anyway, I'm mostly waiting to hear back about $$ now, which I understand should come out on 4/2. Maybe I'll give FinAid another call today and see if I'll get to talk to an actual human...

Still awaiting evaluation, this is one of the most frustrating processes I have ever encountered.

april 2nd and still awaiting evaluation. i am thinking of calling them today and explaining how my first deposit deadline (BC) is 10 days away and that as Davis remains my top choice, i would love to hear from them before the deadline so i can make the most informed decision...has anybody tried this? isnt their deposit deadline april 15th as well...2 weeks away? this is ridiculous.

It's supposed to be today. I still says it's not available to view when I login to myawards though. Maybe later today?

"The grant we offered is need-based. Our Admission Office (admissions@law.ucdavis.edu) administers merit-based scholarships and will send eligibility notifications to admitted students in the next week."

So if anyone else got the 14k offer earlier in the year it was a need based grant. So fingers crossed for any sort of merit scholarship for everybody.

All I got was this delightful message:

Quote:
YOUR FINANCIAL AID AWARD PACKAGING IS NOT YET COMPLETE.

Thanks UC Davis, hope you can get back to me soon with something...

From the website:

Quote:
First Year Students: The first deposit is due April 15 or within 3 weeks of the date on your admission decision letter, whichever is later.

Yeah, when I saw the 50K+, I was like WHAT?! Crossing fingers for merit based aid if any.

@hanman, Near the end of March, I notified Hastings and Davis that I had a full ride to accept by April 1. Both receptionists explained (with a spin) that they were understaffed and weren't through applications from December (Davis)/January (Hastings) yet. The receptionist at Hastings seemed particularly flabbergasted that I claimed I had an April 1 deadline, until he remembered over the phone that ABA schools that offer money are allowed to set an April 1 deadline.

I did not hear back from Hastings or Davis before April 1 and I have put down a deposit elsewhere. If I hear back from the Hastings or Davis before August... well, I haven't crossed them off my list, but I am definitely disappointed by how little communication I've received from them and how disorganized they appear to be, compared to my reach schools and safety schools.

So even if we were admitted a few months ago we might find out if we got a scholarship this week?

I got 14k in need-based aid which is way more than I ever thought I'd get. The director of financial aid at UCI Law took one look at my parents financial info and thought I was crazy for even applying for need-based aid so this 14k makes me pretty happy.

I'm not positive, but I think the poster was including fees. As I read it, tuition alone is "only" around 47k, which is a small bump from last year. Living expenses, books, insurance, etc. tack on an extra 18k, I believe. OOS'ers add 12k to that.

holy hell...received $25,000 in need-based grants! seriously was not expecting that. not really expecting much, if anything, in merit-based aid since i'm below their medians for LSAT and GPA.

That's fantastic! Congrats!

At long last, my application is finally "Evaluation in Progress" 4/3.
